"So are we going to Red Robin's today?" I asked Chris while I folded the clothes.

"You tell me, is y'all gone get kidnapped again today?" He replied

I made a straight face, "Is that supposed to be funny?"

"Naw not at all, I was actually scared for y'all no lie."
He replied

"Well stop playing like that" I said and rolled my eyes

"It was just a little humor, calm yo ass down." He said and nudged my head and then left the room. Lately I've just been so annoyed.

"Mommy!" Raniyah said and ran and grabbed my waist.

I looked and Chris was chasing her.

"Chris, stop." I sighed

"He was just playing Mommy." She had said and looked up at me.

"Yeah I was just playing" he had said and playfully rolled his eyes.

"Let's finish playing hide and seek and leave her mean ass alone." He said and grabbed her hand.

"Stop cursing" I said without turning around.

"Okay mom" Chris said while leaving the room.

At least two hours later he came back in the room and I was just waking up from a nap.

"You feel better now?" He asked

"What do you mean? Nothing was ever wrong."

"It was like you was me today and I was you. I'm usually mean as hell and all that and you usually all happy and playful and shit." He said and sat on the bed

"So I'm not allowed to have a different mood other than that one?"

"Shit you is, it was just out of the ordinary." He replied back.

"Oh"

"Alright Lex, don't get in the habit of havin' this attitude, I'm the only one that can have an attitude."

I raised my right eyebrow,"Says who?"

"Says me. I'm Daddy" he smirked and stood off of the bed.

"Is we still goin' or what?"

"It's are we and yeah, what is Raniyah doing?"

"Listen, I ain't in school ion give a fuck how you say it, she playin' wit her toys and shit." 

"Speaking of school, did you finish?" I asked him randomly.

"Why you wanna know?" He asked

"Why would I not?"

"Naw.." He said and rubbed his head.

"Did you get your GED ?" I asked

He looked to me and Raniyah had came in before he replied, "Mommy are we going to eat or no?" She said to me and sat on the bed.

"Yeah we're about to go let me put some clothes on." I said and she ran back out and went into her room.

"Naw I don't."

"You should get one." I replied

"I'm too damn old for it now."

"You're never too old for a GED Chris."

"Well it ain't no purpose, I'm 26 years old now." He said back.

"There is a purpose, one day you're going to want to get a real job and let go of the one you have on the street."
