Y/N'S POV
As I ran towards the tall buildings, I noticed a man aiming his gun at me. I threw my shield at him before I jumped on top of the ledge and through the window.
Diana took my side while we observed the men who were planning on taking us out in no time. Diana and I exchanged a look, which made me feel like this would become a habit, and then we charged towards the men.My shield was knocked out of my hand before I used my sword and relied on my combat abilities to get me through the fight.
One kicked me in the face, which caused me to stumble back a little bit. I regained my balance and ran towards him before I slid under his legs and tripped him. I took back my shield before I threw it at the man on my far right.Diana stopped one from approaching me by knocking him out the window. I sent her a nod, then we both made our way out of the building. I jumped down to take care of the men at the bottom while Diana kept at it at the top.
I began to feel tired, but I knew that this was no time for me to rest. I needed to work on pushing my agility anyway, so this was a good start for me.Soon, Diana joined me, and I noticed a machine gun aimed at Diana. I ran towards the machine gun before I flipped it over.
Suddenly, I heard a shot go off, but it didn't hit me. I turned to see Steve. I sent him a smile, which only caused him to focus more on protecting Diana and me.I took one of the soldier's guns and hit another with my shield before I finished the first soldier by throwing him into one of his companions.
Someone fell to the ground in front of Diana, Steve, and me, which moved my attention to the tower a few inches away from us immediately.Steve yelled,"SNIPER!! MOVE!!"
While Diana helped the woman on my left, I noticed another woman trying to pull her child away from the scene.
I rushed over to them and felt something enter my shoulder before I winced in pain.I gently pushed the woman and her child out of the way, then I heard Steve yell to Charlie,"Charlie, bell tower!!"
I, automatically, gazed at Charlie, who seemed to be holding back at taking his shot at the sniper. I was very confused because I had thought that Charlie was the best there was when it came to shooting. What caused him to doubt his next move?
Before anyone else could get hurt, Diana and I blocked the shots intended for the civilians by the sniper.
When I saw Steve, Sameer, and the Chief run out from where they were previously hiding, I became curious as to what they had in mind. However, I was brought back by the matter at hand and the blood trickling down my shoulder.Steve's eyes met mine before he yelled,"Y/N!! SHIELD!!"
I ran towards the platform I was to jump off of before Steve, Sameer, and The Chief gave me a boost.
I held out my shield and stared into the eyes of the sniper, which showed nothing but fear and anxiety. I drew back my arm before I rammed my shield into the bell tower.I turned to see that the sniper got crushed under the top of the exterior, then I began to feel the ground crumble underneath me.
I jumped out of the bell tower immediately, trying to make sure that I had actual ground to land on. I didn't want to land on top of someone. That would be bad; especially with the bell tower already falling apart.I made a decent landing on the ground, but I noticed that I had lost a good amount of blood since I took care of that sniper. I felt a little lightheaded, and Diana rushed over to me.
She applied pressure to my wound, and I said,"Diana, you don't need to-"
Diana rolled her eyes before she sat me down where there was a seat in front of a fountain.
Steve crouched down in front of me, and someone rushed over to the scene. It was a woman who looked very young.
She said, in a thick accent,"Please let me assist you. I can help."
I nodded, and she took the bullet out of my shoulder. I squeezed Diana's hand before the woman washed off my arm and wrapped it in some white wrapping or cloth.
I thanked her, and she smiled at me before she said,"You're welcome. Thank you. All of you."
I sent her a nod before Steve, Sameer, Diana, Charlie, The Chief, and I stood still for a picture. I gave my best smile, and the photographer thanked us a billion times for allowing him to take the photo. After the photographer left, Steve motioned over to Diana. I nodded.
I walked over to Diana before I said,"Diana, I... umm... I'm really sorry for how I yelled at you earlier. I didn't mean to be so rude, but it's just always been hard for me. I know that it's not your fault, but I've always been compared to you, and I just want people to remember me because of my name. Not because I'm your sister. Please don't take offense to that. You're the best sister that I could've ever asked for, but I just wanted to apologize for my actions. I'm deeply sorry. Forgive me?"
Diana smiled. Then, she hugged me before I hugged her back.
Diana said,"Of course. I understand. How's your arm?"
I answered,"Fine. I'll manage. Steve, what now?"
Sameer exclaimed,"We celebrate!!"
Even though Sameer wasn't Steve, I could accept that answer.
