Ayaka pulled Nana behind her, hurtling down the street in terror. They'd almost been caught, just because of Nana's actions! Ayaka was furious with her little sister! No matter, she'd yell at her later. They'd been running and stopping and running for hours. It was in the late afternoon, they needed a place to rest and quick.

They ran like the wind, not stopping to take a breath, Ayaka's black hair twirling in the late afternoon breeze. Nana's cheeks were flushed, her heart pounding against her chest.  Her stomach grumbled loudly from hunger, causing Ayaka to stop and look at her, feeling concerned for her sister.

"You're hungry, aren't you?" Ayaka asked with a hint of worry. Nana nodded glumly, looking down at her toes.

"Me too." Ayaka sighed, kneeling down next to her so that they were eye level. Her dark green eyes bore into her light ones, both of them twinkling in the streetlights. "Let's go find a food store, I'll get you something to eat," she promised.

Nana sighed with relief, making her sister smile, and rubbed her stomach as if to prove that she was starving. Ayaka stood back to her full height, and grabbed her sister's hand once more.

They crept cautiously around the streets, keeping their eyes peeled for food stores. A few cars zoomed down the streets every now and then, and the two girls stayed well away from the headlights. After all, anyone could recognize them.

Nana, unfortunately, couldn't see well and allowed her sister to drag her along. They eventually found a small shop on a street corner and walked inside innocently, as if they were just normal young girls looking to buy a snack.

  Ding!

The bell on the door rang, alerting the shop keeper. They were greeted by warm air from inside. Ayaka looked around her casually, spotting several security cameras. Nana stumbled to the different aisles,  trying desperately to read the food labels. But it was so hard, it just all looked blurry, the colors from the bags, boxes, cans, and containers looked seemed to blend together.

Whilst the shop-keepers eyes were else where, Ayaka managed to slip a bag of chocolates in her pocket. She went to find Nana and saw her trying desperately to read the labels. "Ayyy Nooo--Eeeee." She struggled a little too loudly, to her sister it looked as if she was trying to speak a foreign language.

"Shush, Nana! You're making too much noise. Do you want us to get caught?" Ayaka scolded her. Nana looked stricken and stayed still, her hands clasped together and looking at her toes.

"Not to worry," Ayaka smiled, "I'll get us some delicious treats! Stay here and act normal, okay?" She wore a cheesy smile on her face that would hopefully make her sister think twice about doing something stupid again. She did stupid things when she was upset or angry.

"Okay...." Nana said somewhat disappointedly. Ayaka gave her hand a squeeze before moving on to the other food aisles casually.

Nana frowned as she disappeared from view, then all of a sudden a wicked smile crossed her lips.

Ayaka stuffed another candy bar into her pocket, sneaking a glance at the shop-keeper, who was supposedly around her twenties. She had blonde hair revealing dark roots tied into a frizzy bun, her bright red lips were pierced, and she had a one or two tattoos on her arms. She looked American. She was staring at her phone screen, obviously not paying attention to anybody in the store.

"Just my luck!" Ayaka snickered, swiping another candy bar with a large grin on her face. Just then, a loud whine was heard from a few aisles down.

       What the?!

Apparently some kid was having a temper tantrum. "People need to control their kids." Ayaka said to no one in particular, recovering from being startled by the sudden outburst. The kid started wailing and crying as if he or most likely she was being beaten. Hmph, she sounds familiar...
