Everyone stood there, paralyzed with fear. Nana and Aki looked about ready to cry, with their legs shaking as if ready to collapse from under them. Naomi was just as scared, and every single nerve in her body urged her to move, do something, but she didn't move a muscle. Ayaka gulped, thinking there was no way out of this. The disfigured girl already had a clear way inside, and she could easily catch them and slice their bodies in half before they even took one step forward. She was so close, too close.

The Tek Tek monster continued to tap its scythe against the hardwood floorboards. "Where are my legs?!" She raged, making them all flinch.

Ayaka looked around frantically at all the furniture in the abandoned house. She grabbed a wooden chair and flung it at the door. The chair slammed against it, shutting the door briefly. But that wouldn't help keep the monster out.

Just when the door was about to swing open and let the thing behind it inside, Ayaka flung herself at it. She pressed her back against the door firmly as the half bodied girl outside continued to beat against it. The house was in an uproar of screams and cries of pure terror.

Aki and Kenji had no idea who or what this girl was, but it was evident that she was someone they shouldn't be friendly towards. However, the girls knew exactly who she was and dread coiled inside the pit of their stomachs. Naomi, panic clearly setting in, grabbed another chair and placed it against the door.

Nana saw this and grabbed a lamp covered in webs and put it on top of the chair, as if it would help.

"Barricade the door!" Ayaka ordered, realizing there might actually be a way to save them all. Kenji and Aki looked at each other before Kenji grabbed a chair. Aki's bottom lip trembled, and he backed up as he watched them barricade the door as the monster forcefully pounded against it. He backed into the hallway, and ran into the bathroom and closed the door behind him and locked it before crouching in the corner, terrified.

Ayaka moved away from the door and helped Kenji move the chairs up against the door. Nana scurried to the door from across the room and locked it before scurrying back. They all stood in the middle of the room and waited, their hearts racing.

The pounding against the door stopped, and they sighed, relieved. There was a moment's silence. Kenji violently shook his head and pinched himself repeatedly on the arm. "Ow! Ow! Owie! Ow!" Nana looked at him with a puzzled expression, and soon the rest followed.

"What are you doing?" She asked curiously.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Kenji answered harshly. "I know this is just a nightmare, and all of you aren't real!" He kept pinching himself all over, his legs, arms, face, before he began hastily slapping himself.

The girls all looked at one another, wondering why he refused to believe Tek Tek was real and that she just tried to kill them. They stared at him for a while before Ayaka put her hand on his shoulder comfortingly. "It's okay, y'know--"

"You're not real!" Kenji yelled, staggering away from her. Ayaka looked taken aback, and she stepped away from him. "None of you are real, and this is not happening. None of this is real." Kenji tried to convince himself more than everyone else.

Is this all real...? Nana thought idiotically. She looked deep in thought. When was the last time she woke up? Oh yeah, she'd dozed off in the car when they'd 'kidnapped' Kenji and Aki! So...when she woke up, they were still in the car with them and decided to get something to eat. So was all of that just a dream?

"Of course this is real!" Ayaka shot back. "Open your eyes for Christ's sake!" Naomi looked thoughtful also. Yeah, this was real. Or was it really? Were they just imagining this? Now that she thought about it, everytime the monster showed up, she'd been asleep before. Like when Nana and Aya first found her, she'd first fell asleep before nibbling on the sandwich she'd packed. Then when they left the hotel... But no dream could be as real as what they were experiencing now, and the thought disturbed her, so she brushed it off.
