Naomi watched intently from the doorway of the abandoned building as the two girls started fussing at one another. They kept arguing in the middle of the street, which she wasn't sure was such a great idea or not. But the streets looked deserted, which she thought was a good thing. What time was it anyway? It was probably around seven when she left her house to run away.

Naomi thought back to earlier when she arrived at her home from school, and she pulled up her sleeve. She examined the bruise on her arm as the girls continued to fuss.

"Come back inside NOW Nana-chan!" Ayaka ordered, pointing to the building.

"Make me!" Nana shot back, sticking out her tongue.

Naomi started to wonder if she really wanted to tag along with them, from the looks of it they didn't get along too well. And if she did, would they treat her like family? She sank back into the darkness of the building and sat on the bottom step of the stairs to think.

Teke, teke, teke, teke...

The two girls stopped abruptly in the middle of their argument. Did they hear what they thought they heard? Ayaka gave her sister a worried glance, which Nana returned. Then both sisters looked around nervously.

Tek Tek Teke Teke Tek Tek Tek.

This time it sounded closer, and Ayaka's first instinct was to grab her sister and flee. She pulled her towards the abandoned building and pushed her in as the noise grew louder.

Tek Tek Tek Tek Tek Tek Tek Tek Teke Tek Tek...

Ayaka slammed the door instinctively, but it didn't shut all the way. It was still open an inch. She slammed it again, but to no avail. Nana's heart was pounding against her chest, but Naomi still had no idea what was going on at all.

"What's wrong?" She asked frantically, standing up. The girls didn't answer her, Ayaka still struggling to close the door all the way and possibly lock it whilst Nana stood trembling in the middle of the room.

Ayaka used all her force, she pressed her back up against the door and tried fiddling with the lock. She glanced up at Naomi and Nana. "Go upstairs!" She yelled at them. "Now!"

"What's going on, what's happening?" Naomi asked, afraid of the answer. "Is something wrong?"

"Hurry! Upstairs!" The supposedly apartment building had two stories. It was very small, only one or two rooms downstairs and a few bedrooms upstairs. But the girls didn't move an inch, which frustrated Ayaka.

"This better not be a joke!" Naomi yelled, her fear now replaced by anger.

Ayaka looked around for something to block the door with. The apartment was completely bare downstairs! Why is she even wasting precious time trying to lock the door?! There's no way of barricading it anyways!

"You guys better quit scaring me or I'm leaving!" Naomi threatened, walking towards the door.

"Wait!" Ayaka yelled, ready to pull away from the door as soon as she reached for the knob.

Tek tek teke.....

SMASH

Three shrill screams of terror echoed throughout the apartment building. Ayaka looked a few inches beside her to see the sharp edge of a scythe jutting into the door as Naomi quickly backed away in terror. She gaped in horror at its bloody edge with eyes as big as saucers, her pulses racing. It was only a few inches away from her face! She was horrified! It had been so close to cutting her skull, which was not a pleasant thought.
