Marinette's POV
I walked into class and I was scared out of my mind. What if they figured out my identity? What would they say?
I sat in my seat and Adrien came in a little after I did. I was really getting nervous now. We both came to school wearing our costumes. Then I noticed something. Adrien looked a lot like Chat Noir. I hoped that I didn't look like Ladybug.
"Wow, you look like M'la- I mean, Ladybug..." Adrien commented. That was exactly what I didn't want.
"You look a lot like Chat Noir," I said. Adrien tensed. I was confused on why. I didn't have time to ask, though, because class was starting.
"Good morning, class. Today, you will see Adrien and Marinette act out their play. Could you two come up to the front?" Ms. Bostier asked.
"Yeah, sure," I replied.
"Yes," Adrien answered. We walked up to the front and I was getting more nervous by the second and not from acting out the play, but from the possibility that my identity could be found out.
We began to act out the play and the class laughed quite a bit. I guessed that it was pretty funny. When the play was over, almost everyone applauded, but someone looked a little suspicious. Said person started whispering to a certain boy who was sitting in front of her. Not gonna say any names, Alya and Nino, but they both were whispering and nodding like they figured me out. I was getting really nervous.
"Good job, Adrien and Marinette. That play was very entertaining. Tell us how you know so much about Paris' superheroes," Ms. Bostier said.
"Oh, uh, we're friends with them," I replied. It was true for Adrien, but not completely for me. Yes, I was friends with Chat Noir, but I wasn't friends with Ladybug because I was Ladybug.
"Oh yeah! I remember you guys said that a while ago! I want to everything about her for the LadyBlog!" Alya explained, excitement dripping from her words. She was pretty excited, no doubt about it, but I couldn't give away too much information or else she would find out my identity and post it on the LadyBlog for all to see. Then it's game over for Ladybug and Chat Noir.
"Well... I shouldn't just give away information about her without her permission. It would be rude. Maybe I could ask her if you could interview her," I suggested.
"Could you?" she asked.
"Of course!" I replied. "What are friends for?"
"You're the best!" Alya exclaimed.
"Because I'm helping you get an interview with Ladybug?" I asked.
"No...well yes...but it's also because of you just helping me in general and being there for me. There are many other reasons, too, though," my best friend explained.
"Alright, girls! Quiet down!" Ms. Bostier ordered.
"Sorry," we apologized in sync. Ms. Bostier explained that we would be doing a plot chart on it and doing all this other literature stuff, but I didn't pay much attention. I was thinking about a certain black cat who I hoped would come to patrol tonight even though we hadn't planned it.
Sometimes I would go out and patrol just to have the feeling of being free from all of life's problems. I wondered if Chat Noir did the same thing. I hoped he would be out tonight.
I was shocked out of my thoughts when the bell rang. I saw piece of paper in front of me and I looked at Alya's paper, which had part of it filled out. Great. Looks like I missed something important. Did I really like Chat Noir that much?
I gathered my books and headed to my locker, Alya right beside me. She asked ne what I was thinking about, but she had a smug smile on her face as if she already knew. She probably thought I was thinking about Adrien. Nope. I was thinking about the oh so hot Chat Noir. I told her that I was thinking about something else, but I didn't have to explain because we approached our lockers and put our books away and get what we needed for our next class.
