Marinette's POV
We charged into Hawkmoth's lair and straight at him. Said man turned around and looked at us in shock.
He shot something through the air towards Rena Fox. I couldn't tell what it was because it was moving to fast. Rena disappeared somehow and appeared behind Hawkmoth. He looked around in confusion and Rena knocked him down.
She pinned him to the ground and took the earrings and tossed them to me. I caught them and put them on.
"Tikki, spots on!" I chanted. Then I realized what I had done. I had just given away the phrase used to transform. And Hawkmoth heard it. Now I would have to do everything in my power to keep my earrings out of Hawkmoth's possession.
Hawkmoth threw Rena across the room, but she landed on her feet and skidded to a stop.
I charged towards Hawkmoth, yo-yo in hand. When I was in range, I released my yo-yo, but once again, Hawkmoth caught it. This time, however, he didn't throw it away. He started dragging me towards him. I tried to get the yo-yo out of his grip, but it was no use.
All of the sudden, Hawkmoth fell to the ground. I was confused for a second. Then I saw why. Chat Noir was standing with his staff raised and looked like he had just swung at a baseball. That was enough for me to know what had happened.
Chat Noir picked me up and moved me father away from Hawkmoth.
"I could have done this myself, you know," I said.
"And I wanted to help you," he defended.
"I didn't need help."
"But I gave you help."
"But I didn't need it."
"You got it anyway."
"I didn't need to ge- You know what? Never mind," I said. There was no point in arguing. Besides, we still had Hawkmoth to deal with.
Chat Noir and Rena Fox both raced towards Hawkmoth when he got back up and rubbed the back of his head. I followed behind after getting back my bearings.
Then I stopped. Something was wrong about this. I needed to warn them before it was too late.
"No! Stop!" I yelled. They didn't stop. "STOP!!" Rena Fox stopped, but Chat kept going. He was almost to Hawkmoth. I used my yo-yo and released it and it latched onto the ceiling.
I swung across the room and grabbed Chat Noir by the ankles, causing him to fall on his face.
"Ow! What was that all about?" he asked, rubbing his nose.
"You shouldn't go near Hawkmoth. Something isn't right. I know it. You were about to walk- er, run right into a trap. You're lucky I stopped you before it was too late," I explained.
"Oh," Chat replied. "So, how do you suppose we deal Hawkmoth then?"
"I honestly have no idea," I admitted.
"Well, we better think of something quick," Rena said. "Hawkmoth is just getting more time to make a plan."
"Rena's right. We need to think of something," I agreed.
"Um... I still like the idea of charging him. If we all charge towards him, he'll be overwhelmed since there are three of us," Chat explained.
"Maybe, but I don't think that's a good idea..." I said. Then Chat Noir charged Hawkmoth himself. "What do you think you're doing? Get back here!"
"Nope!" Chat Noir replied. I sprinted as fast as could towards him and caught up. I grabbed him, but we were already too close to Hawkmoth. I could tell. I tried to get us away, but Chat Noir was struggling. Then...
