At Last

An Unexpected Happening

Chat Noir's POV

I decided that I would go on patrol tonight. I wasn't sure if M'lady would be there, but I hoped so. I really wanted to finally confess to her. Sure, I was nervous, but I had to do it.

I landed on the top of the Eiffel Tower. I saw Ladybug sitting, overlooking the city of love. I started to walk towards her and stopped a few feet away.

"Good evening, M'lady," I greeted. Ladybug jumped and whipped around to face me.

"Chat! You scared me!" she replied. "But, good evening to you too. I didn't expect you to be here."

"Sorry, M'lady. I just wanted to get some fresh air, you know," I explained. "Clear my head."

"Same here," Ladybug said.

"I actually wanted to talk to you," we said in unison. We laughed and when we finally calmed down, I decided to speak.

"I wanted to say-" we both said again. We laughed again.

"You go first," Ladybug said.

"No, you go ahead, M'lady," I insisted.

"No, no, you go."

"No, you can go first."

"I love you," we both admitted. We laughed once more and then stared at each other wide-eyed. Neither of us spoke. We were both surprised by what the other had said. I couldn't even believe that I had actually confessed, but what I really couldn't believe was that Ladybug told me she loved me.

"Y-you l-love me?" Ladybug stuttered.

"Y-yeah," I replied. Wait. Did I just stutter? Why am I getting so nervous all of the sudden? "Y-You l-love me t-too, M'lady?" I couldn't believe how much I was stuttering or that Ladybug loved me. She actually loved me. I was surprised.

"Yeah, do I. I mean, I do!" she replied. It was funny how she switched her words around. I guess she was just as nervous as I was. That made me feel a little better.

"So....that's mostly why I came here. I was hoping you would be here so I could tell you, but I wasn't sure if you'd be here or not. I was kinda scared that you didn't love me back and I was worried that you might not show up, but then you did and then I was nervous and now I'm happy that you love me and I should have told you a long time ago. I was just afraid of rejection even though I was the one rejecting you because I thought you were being playful and now I see that you were being serious and I have something to confess. I have kissed you before and I don't regret it since I saved you and it was true love and I don't know why I'm still talking, but I love you and I don't ever want you to leave me again," Ladybug explained very quickly only stopping for a breath a couple times. I understood every single word, though. Ladybug has kissed me before? I didn't remember that, but I wished that I did.

"You've kissed me before?" I asked, shocked.

"Yeah... When Dark Cupid hit you with the arrow, it made you hate me. You said hateful things to me, but I kissed you and you went back to normal," Ladybug explained.

"Ohhh, so that's what happened," I said.

"Yep and I actually sort of enjoyed it," she whispered 'enjoyed it' but I heard her thanks to my cat senses. 

"You enjoyed it?" I smirked. Ladybug became as red as a to- strawberry.

"You weren't supposed to hear that!" she exclaimed.

"But I did, Bugaboo!" I replied with a wink. That earned a glare from Ladybug.

"I thought we agreed on no more Bugaboo," she said.

"But the name suits you so well, M'lady," I protested.

"Maybe..." Ladybug replied.

"I knew you liked it!" I exclaimed.

"I didn't say I like it. I just said... Fine! Yes, I like the nickname!" Ladybug admitted.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked.

"Uh, sure," Ladybug answered.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked.

Ladybug's POV

"Can I ask you something?" Chat asked.

"Uh, sure," I answered.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked. I froze. I couldn't believe that he was asking me to be... to be... his girlfriend.

Chat looked at me expectantly. Oh yeah. This is where I say yes or no. Heh. Forgot about that...

"I... Uh... Um... I... I... Um... I... Uh... Y-yes," I replied. Chat looked a little shocked.

"Wait, really?!" he asked.

"Y-yeah... really..." I confirmed. He hugged me.

"Thank you, M'lady!" Chat kept repeating the words thank you over and over and over again. I stopped him with a kiss. His eyes widened in surprise, but he kissed back. When I pulled away, Chat looked a little sad. I, too, wanted to continue, but we both needed to breathe.

Chat grinned again. I beg he was the happiest cat in the world because I had just become his girlfriend. I was the happiest ladybug in the world because he had just become my boyfriend.

Chat's grin faded and he picked me up and I became quickly confused. He jumped from rooftop to rooftop and finally stopped and set me down behind a chimney.

"Chat? Is something wrong?" I asked.

"Yes, something is very wrong," he replied.

"What is it?" I asked, becoming increasingly concerned. He shushed me and looked around the other side of the chimney. All of a sudden, I felt a hand cover my mouth. I tried to pull the hand off, but I couldn't. I started to freak out as an arm wrapped around my waist and started pulling me back. I started kicking and struggled to get free. I purposely kicked Chat in the back so he would turn around and help me.

He turned around saying, "What was-" but stopped when he saw what was going on. He went wide eyed and tried to get me out of the tight grasp of whoever was holding me. I felt myself being pulled back even more. I felt someone's chest and realized that I couldn't be saved. I continued to struggle, though. I wouldn't go down without a fight.

Then the person squeezed me very hard and everything went black.
