Alright. What I'm getting from this is to make my headcanon conversation with Jonah and Amber in the events of 2x01.

"We'll have two of the Cyrus special." Cyrus said. "Since it's a specialty item, and you're new here, it's two chocolate milkshakes, and—"

Amber didn't bother to listen. Her attention was on Jonah. "Can I talk to you?"

Jonah nodded. "Sure."

She led Jonah outside. "What is it?"

"I'm going to tell you a secret that I've been holding in for months now. I'm not telling you this as a live interest. Just as a friend."

"Okay. Go ahead."

"As you can tell, I got a job here at the Spoon."

"Uh huh."

"And I have to have this job, because our money flow is low. I know you're thinking I'm being greedy and selfish, but the thing is... my dad lost his job."

Now, Jonah was concerned. "What? How did that happen?"

"He was continuously late for work, and his assignments. Eventually, his boss had had enough, and she fired him."

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that."

She started to tear up. "It's fine. What really hurts is that he kept pretending to go to work. He didn't even tell us, and one day, we found out that the whole time, he was out drinking with his friends almost everyday."

"That's why you took the job. To support your family?"

"Yeah. My dad spent over a thousand on drinks, and now, because of him, me and my mom have to take some more jobs to pick up from his mess."

The two both heard a knock on the window. "Amber. Come back in, now. We need some help."

She turned back to Jonah, and hugged him. "Thank you for listening to me."

"Anytime." He said.
