Never alone

chapter 12

Quinns hand still looked like it was solidified in rock , looks like this adventure was better than they ever could have imagined.

Yet they where still missing the presence of a true friend, Leo.

"Well , let's see if this works " Quinn smiled out.

She moved her hand in the rock, and with little effort and to her suprise the  panel spun around and released her hand from its god like grip.
Scrambling to her feet , she backed away from the wall and towards her friends.

What if it hadn't worked?

As if in answer to Quinn's questions the door rumbled aside on an Un seen mechanism.

Light of fire was revealed through the mouth of this place , people probably could have seen it from the inn which was slightly concerning but not the biggest thing on their minds right now.

Up roars of what sounded like laughter echoed out of the cave. The noise was almost overwhelming but  Strangly to Quinn it felt as if this was home.

The sense of home is not normally felt within a cave but this island was not the same as her town.

It was special. Almost magical.

"Let's go we haven't came down here just to freeze our butts of at the edge of the sea "   whispered jane.

"It's just like you jane to be kind to every butt you meet" chuckled Quinn.

Megan and Quinn burst out into laughter which entwined with the old as time laughs coming from the cave.

"Hey! That was one time"  blurted out Jane with an Un amused smile on her face .

The weird and unfamiliar look on Janes face just made Quinn and Megan laugh more and louder.

The more they laughed , the more Janes face reddened and the more the laughter from the cave died down.

It wasn't long before they had finished laughing and where now wondering what was in the cave. All the laughter had disappeared and was replaced by concerned, anxious Whispering which suprisingly was not coming from the girls but rather from inside the cave itself.

The still howling wind whisked around them , still chilling them to the bone.

People always say that once you take the first step everything is easier , but it seemed that the first step they took was not hard at all but rather easy , there ambition and curiosity growing wilder with all caution thrown to the wind as they stepped into the cave together .... as one .

With each step the Whispering got louder and the girls crept onwards wondering what would happen once they got to the end of this perilous path.

Would they be welcomed with open arms after all they did feel like they belonged here more than they ever had any where else . This was where they were meant to be quinn could feel it , the electricity flowing brightly through quinns veins was only intensifying the feeling.

The Stalagmites and Stalactites littered the cave but it was if they were leading them  to where they wanted to go.
This bright light was taking everything out of the shadows and into the light, they where closer now more than they had ever been before but the thing was...........did they want to know what was lurking around the corner? And how would they cope with what they saw?
