"I can explain."

I looked over at Peter who was sitting on my bed while I stood in front of him with my arms crossed, "Okay. Please explain why you never showed up to the restaurant, leaving me look like a fool in front of everyone there and when I leave, you pop out of an alley."

Peter cleared his throat and looked at his hands, "Um, well-"

"I waited over an hour for you, Peter. The waitress even took pity on me and didn't make me pay for the drinks I had gotten."

"I'm sorry, Meadow. I was caught up in something. I was on my way there when you ran into me."

"Leaving an alley."

"Yes. Leaving an alley." Peter sighed, standing up, "Look, I'll make it up to you-"

"Don't worry about it," I laughed slightly, shaking my head, "If you didn't want to go out, then all you had to do was say so."

"I do, though!" he said quickly, standing up, "Things are just..complicated right now."

"Complicated?"

"Yeah."

I rolled my eyes slightly and motioned for him to follow me. Raising an eyebrow, he followed me out of my room and to the front door. I pulled it open and motioned him out. He slowly walked out into the hall and turned towards me, "What-"

"Goodnight, Peter." I said before shutting the door in his face.

"Meadow! C'mon!" he said, knocking on the door.

I locked the door and turned away from it, seeing mom walk into the kitchen and throw me a questioning look. I shrugged and took a step from the door, "Boys."

I went through the whole week ignoring Peter. Every time he would come up to me at school, I would instantly go the other way. It sucked not having anyone to talk to or hang out with, but after his little stunt, I didn't really want to be around him. Whenever I was either walking to or from school, I felt as if someone was watching over me, though. Which is weird and kind of creepy, but also kind of reassuring in a weird way.

There have been tons of sightings of a new villain here in Midtown, though. Some guy that goes by the name of Green Goblin. There have lots of reports on how Spider-Man has taken him down multiple times, but that guy is relentless. People around school were saying how he went to some festival they had somewhere in the city and caused a big scene. Since then, mom's kept me under lock down.

Walking out of school, I pulled my hood up over my head and started walking my usual route home. Footsteps ran up behind me, causing me to tense and slowly turn my head to the side when the person caught up to me. I sighed loudly, seeing Peter walking with me, "What do you want, Parker?"

"Last name basis now, huh?" he sighed, shaking his head, "I just want to apologize. Again."

I stopped walking and turned towards him, causing him to do the same, "Fine. Just stop apologizing. It's getting kind of ridiculous."

"Just like that?"

"Yes. You're constant nagging is annoying me."

"Not my fault I want another chance to actually take you out. I promise I'll be on time and to make it the best night you've had."

I chuckled and nodded slightly, "Right, sure. I'll decide that Friday night."

Peter smiled brightly and nodded his head, only to freeze and look up towards the sky. I furrowed my brow and done the same, "What are we looking at?"

"You need to go back to the school."

"What? I just want to go home-"

"Meadow, just do as I say."

"Peter-"

A loud, crackling laugh interrupted me, causing me to look up at the sky once again, seeing a figure flying towards us. I grabbed Peters arm, stepping closer to him. Soon, the figure of the Green Goblin was in front of us, looking between us, "Peter Parker." he spat, causing me to raise my eyebrows slightly.

"Harry-"

The Goblin, or Harry, glared at Peter and moved closer to us, "You took my hope way," he started, causing Peter to put a strong arm around me, "So, now, I'm going to take yours away."

"No, Harry-"

I was suddenly ripped out of Peters hold, being lifted up into the air. I wrapped my arms around the strange guy to not fall. I desperately looked back towards Peter, not seeing him anywhere. I swallowed and turned to look at Harry, "So, um," I started, causing his eyes to dart towards me, "You're not going to kill me or anything, right? I kind of have a Thanksgiving dinner to go to in a couple of weeks."
