This was one of those weekends where I would go to visit Drew at his apartment and, per usual, attend a party or two with him for our quality time of the weekend.
Sure, I would rather spend our time in a more sentimental way, but I deal with it. Any time with Drew is a time I enjoy spending.
"Lainey, are you ready?" Drew called through his apartment. He was in his kitchenette while I was in his bedroom still getting ready.
"Just about!" I replied back, pulling on my laced up ankle boots that completed my outfit. I was in a pair of black leggings, a cute white lacey top, and my boots. Simple, but still cute.
My brown hair was in a messy French braid down my back because of the lack of desire I had to actually do something with it tonight.
"You look beautiful," Drew said from by the door, it wasn't until then I realized that he was standing there.
"Thank you," I smiled, approaching him. As soon as I was within arms length of him, he pulled me tightly to his chest looking down at me with the everlasting look of love present in his eyes.
"Always." He leaned down and kissed me sweetly on my lips. I wish he didn't always want to go to parties when we were together on his side of town. I just wanted to be able to go on a spontaneous date with him that didn't involve a ton of other sweaty and drunk college students.
"Let's go," I insisted, hoping the sooner we get there, the sooner we'd get to leave.
The car ride to the frat house that was hosting the party tonight consisted of handholding and the belting of the lyrics to songs we hardly knew.
Drew's presence in general makes the littlest things matter so, so much to me.
"Are you drinking tonight?" Drew asked, leaning against the car door as I got out of the passenger seat. I readjusted my top before glancing up at him.
"No, not tonight," I denied.
I hate drinking at frat parties. I did it once and guys were all over me and I felt helpless in my drunk state of mind. Sure, Drew had come to my rescue, but of course it ended in a brawl.
I'd like to avoid that tonight.
"Are you?" It was a stupid question, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.
"Yeah," he mumbled, seemingly annoyed. I didn't question him about it though.
We went into the frat house that was already booming with energy and noise. There were people from Drew's school strewn about the property - drinking, grinding, making out, and puking. Pretty much any action you could imagine.
