"Remember that Time Lord wedding tradition I told you about on our wedding day?" The Doctor asked Rose as he played with her hair. She lay on his chest, hugging him close. She was slowly falling asleep in their bed, but his words woke her up in an instant.
"Yes, I do." She sat up, looking at his eyes. "But you never told me what it was..." She trailed off, resting her hand on his bare chest.
He chuckled. "No, it's not that kind of tradition. Although..." He rolled them over so he was over top of her. "I wouldn't mind showing you that kind of tradition." She giggled as he leaned down to kiss her. When their lips touched, it was like magic. It was pure ecstasy for both of them. The Doctor pulled away smiling. "That can wait for later." He laughed when she groaned as he rolled away and got up. "Come on."
She climbed out of bed, grumbling about needing sleep and something else that made the Doctor blush. She put on some slippers and took his extended hand.
He led her through the TARDIS hallways, a small smile on his face. She watched him inquisitively, wondering what this tradition was.
He stopped in front of two old fashioned doors. He pushed them open with a huff. Rose laughed.
"What? They're heavy," he grumbled playfully, making her laugh even more.
When the doors fully opened, they revealed an archive. There were all kinds of artefacts and books. Rose wasn't surprised that the Doctor had a room like this.
She wondered what was in here that would be a wedding tradition. The Doctor grabbed her hand once again and led her through rows of shelves, his goal the back of the room. It was a huge room and took them a few minutes to get to the back. When they got there, her eyes fell on a glass case which was glowing blue.
The Doctor told her to wait by the last set of shelves as he went forward to retrieve the item. Rose watched intently as he turned from her, opening the glass case, and pulling something out. When he turned around, she gasped.
A small necklace with a glowing blue stone hung before her.
"It's beautiful," she whispered, smiling. Then before her very eyes, the blue shifted into an alluring red.
"It's called a Mong Tree. The stone comes from the internal structure of an ancient forest in the northern parts of one of the continents on Gallifrey. Each piece of jewellery was passed on through the mothers of each Time Lord to their wife. I managed to get hers before... well, you know. May I?" Rose felt her eyes filling with tears as she nodded and held up her hair for him to clip it onto her neck.
"It's so beautiful," Rose said, a tear falling down her cheek as she gazed down at it in wonder.
"Just like you," he smiled at her, softly wiping away her tear with his thumb. She grabbed him and kissed him passionately, wrapping her arms around him tightly.
"I love you," she said in between kisses, her words sounding breathy.
"I love you, too, my universe," The Doctor said, picking up her legs to wrap around his waist.
Without looking, not leaving her lips, he carried her back to their room.
She bounced as he dropped her onto the bed with a grin.
"And now you're mine forever..."
