Chapter 21

Eva's POV

I was staring at myself in the mirror as Mary finished fastening the dress. I could see a few bruisers on my exposed wrists and neck which the dress didn't cover and I started to become anxious for my parents to see them. I began to rub my wrists as Jai came in with a box

"I have brought a few things just to add to the outfit, after all when was the last time you saw your parents" Jai said as he opened the box. Inside was bulky necklaces and bracelets, all beautiful indeed but I did kinda gather their purpose, to cover up Harry's mark. I whispered a thank you to Jai and Mary took the selected items from the box and applied them.

Jai walked to the side of me

"So what time are you coming" Jai asked as he inspected himself in the mirror

"10 o'clock" I said as I placed my hand over the thick diamond chocker which Mary had placed on me. Between Harry and the chocker there was quite a few similarities, both rich, royal and an accessory for me. I married Harry for my family's social status and also money. It's how the world worked and I couldn't complain when I first saw him but now that I know him I have a lot to complain about.

"Not long then, are you going to- you know- tell them about Harry or..." Jai asked trailing off

"No, they don't need to know, I don't want them to worry or feel bad or anything, it just created a huge mess of a situation" I said with my voice braking slightly "I can't let my father down, he'd never forgive himself if you knew he'd given his daughter away to a sadistic bastard" I turned to face Jai and he nodded his head slightly

"Speaking of the sadistic bastard I need to go and get him up so he can go and get ready" Mary said with sudden realisation in her voice as she began to quickly walk from the room. I watched her leave before turning back to my reflection.

"So you are just going to hide it from them, tell them what a charm Harry is and how happy you are" Jai asked as he leaned against the wall. I nodded and put my head down

"Yes, Jai I should be blessed to have this life, I understand it needs to be flawed" I said as I began to walk away from the mirror and to the window

"What" Jai asked as he came over. I kept my eye on the dog running around in the garden

"It's what Dylan said to me, before he-" I cut myself up with a gulp as I remember what happened. Jai made a displeased noise "anyway I'm going to wait for them" I said and began to hurry out the room. I was trying to hard to just hold back tears.

I passed luke on my way out, he grabbed hold of my arm

"Apparently your parents are coming today" he said in a grouchy voice

"Yeah, the are arriving soon actually" I said as I pulled my arm back slightly

I saw the corner of Harry's mouth curl up as he said

"Interesting" I got a cold uneasy feeling run over me.

"Come on your highness, they are arriving soon and you can't greet them without pants on" Mary said as she passed carrying some of Harry's clothing. He groaned.

"Cant you get Jai to pose as me, I have other business I need to attend to" Harry said with slight darkness in his voice.

Mary paused and so did I. That was actual a good idea, I mean for if my parents wanted to see him and talk

"You are the king, it is expect of you-" Mary started

"And Jai is basically just a copy of me, look I am king so I command you to make Jai to take my place or I will have you sentenced for treason" Harry threatened. I saw Mary go pale and she looked down. She then looked over to me. I was horrified by what Harry had said, how he'd so carelessly threaten Mary with her life

"Right away your highness, I shall go find your brother" and with that she walked off. Harry smiled and cracked his neck

"Being king is pretty fun, anyway I'll see you later" he said as he walked back into our room. I was slightly baffled and scared but I had to focus on my parents arrival right now.
