I clear my throat and give Blake a half smile. "Baby, I don't think Kyle can do that. But I'll take you, okay?"

She blinks a couple of times before climbing down off her seat and walking over to our side. She raises her arms for Kyle and I clench my teeth.

"Blake-"

"We can go with Kyle, mommy. Up!" He glances at me before putting Blake on his lap.

"Blake, no. Kyle can't go. Not today." I try and argue.

"Please."

I slit my eyes at my two year old and mentally ask God for some kind of help. She's stubborn and she knows exactly how to get what she wants. Conniving gremlin.

I sigh and look warily at Kyle. "You didn't even ask Kyle if he wanted to go swimming." I point out to her. Doubt she'd care about how he felt about it, but it was worth a try.

"Well he asked." She replies in a duh tone, placing her hand on her hip.

"Who are you talking to?" She couldn't have been talking to me. I turn to Kyle and raise an eyebrow, "Is she talking to you?"

He looks down at Blake and shrugs. "I think?"

"So do I, because I know she wasn't talking to me. Right, Blake Alea?"

"Yes ma'am." She says under her breath.

"Okay. Now get off Kyle so I can get you ready."

Her eyes light up like saucers and she scrambles to get from Kyle and races to her room.

"Thank you." Kyle says, thumbing my chin.

I slap his hand away and he smirks the slighted bit. Cocky bastard. "I'm only doing this because of Blake. You just so happen to be lucky she has so many uncles or else she wouldn't be so comfortable with you. Are we meeting wherever or did you want to ride together?"

He scratches the back of his neck and tints pink. "Well I already have my stuff in my car so."

I slap his shoulder and he laughs. "You're a weirdo! How did you know I would even let you do this?"

"Something about how you wanted to keep talking at 11 yesterday hinted at it."

Oh God.

"Shut up! Oh my goodness! I don't even know where that came from."

"It came from your mouth I believe. You act so different without Blake. Like, more chill and interested in me. But as soon as she gets in the picture it's like, Kyle? I don't him. He ain't shit."

I stand and start clearing away the table. "I'm a parent first remember? I guess when she's not there I'm just a regular twenty year old who can flirt and have fun." Kyle hands me more dishes to set in the sink and as I turn to leave he pins me against the counter.

"That screaming bloody murder offer is still very much on the table."

He smiles down at me and my heart flutters at the sight. Fuck you hormones.

"Let me just be with twenty year old Astin for a bit, please?"

I roll my eyes and put my arms around his neck. "You were with her for an entire night."

He hums and leans down. "And it was a pretty great night if I remember correctly."

I snort at his arrogance. "Really? I thought it was pretty lame. Guess we remember it quite differently."

He smirks and it's his turn to raise an eyebrow. "And that's coming from same person who said she didn't want me to come in because we might make another Blake? On the so called 'lame' night?"

My jaw hangs a bit and I try to move away from him.

"Hey, I'm just kidding." He laughs and I huff. "I felt the same way. I feel the same way." His hands slip down my back and he gently gropes my ass.

"Oh you're bold."

He shrugs and doesn't make any moves to move his hands. "You haven't tried to stop me."

Now it's my turn to shrug. "Maybe I don't want you to." His smile slips off his face and is replaced by a serious expression.

"Who's moving fast now?"

"Still you, I think." He smiles again and tilts my chin up.

"Five days really is long when you think about it."

I hum and playfully pretend to think. "I guess."

He chuckles and shakes his head before leaning down and pressing his lips on mine. It's barely a kiss; more like a touch, before he pulls away and searches my eyes.

"Too soon?"

I nod, but reach up to grab his neck. "Yeah, but I want it."

That's all the confirmation he needs before putting our lips back together. Blake's mom Astin is telling me that this isn't okay and the last thing I should be doing is kissing a guy I hadn't known for a week. She's pulling my hair for me to stop and kick him out and then focus solely on Blake.

Barely an adult Astin is telling me to go for it and do something for myself for once and stop being a bipolar bitch. She's telling me that I can be both a parent and a young adult at the same times especially if I'm doing it with someone like Kyle who has shown me how eager he is about the thought of an us.

Only one of those Astin's allow me to keep Kyle and right now, with his arms around me and his hands touching me and his lips on mine, that's the only thing I wanted to do.

"Kyle," I break away and look him in the eyes. "I have to go get Blake ready."

He nods, face flustered and lips slightly swollen. "Yeah, yeah, let me go get my things from my car."

I nod again and neither of us change our position.

"Come on, Kyle." I push him out the way slightly and start to walk away when I feel a sting on my ass.

"Did you just hit my ass?"

"You mean, my ass?"

I fake-glare at him and he grins. "I'll be back in ten minutes tops."

"We already showered so I just have to finish her hair and get her dressed. Do you have a water park planned?"

He nods and kisses me once more before heading towards the door. "I'll be back."

The door closes behind him and I'm left standing dazed in the kitchen.

What the fuck just happened?
