"No, I want that over there!"

"Hey, you! Move Bubbles to the side, thank you!"

"I don't care, find space for it!"

I'd been running around all morning trying to get Blake's party ready. We had decided on going with a female heroin theme, considering she wasn't the biggest fan of princesses. With the exemption of the Bratz, my parent's backyard had been covered in Mulans, The Powerpuff Girls, the Penny Proud crew (who she insists are superheroes), Storm, The Winx Club, all the likes. I'd hired the best event designer in L.A. and so far they weren't disappointing.

The balloon artist, face painter, and DJ all arrived at the same time, causing us to have to revamp the space. We also needed room for the ice cream guy and sketch artist so there was a bit of a hassle going on.

I step back into the house with a sigh while Karri and my mom chuckle at me.

"Tired?" Karri asks, with a quirked eyebrow.

"Exhausted. My next child will be a boy who likes dinosaurs only until the age of seven. Or however long we can drag it on for."

"Hmm, Kyle was never too into dinosaurs, but sometimes the apple falls further from the tree than we think." Karri smirks at me and I choke on my saliva.

"I-I wasn't insinuating K-Kyle and I would- I don't even- we haven't even discussed it." I stutter out, my face in flames and my gaze stern on the floor.

They full out laugh and I shake my head at them. I walk to the kitchen to see my cousin and her staff working away with the food. I leave them then be and go upstairs where Austin is playing with Blake.

Or rather, where Austin is suppose to be playing with Blake.

"Yes! And, and- mommy!" Blake's head shoots up from Austin's phone as she grins at me.

"That's mommy?" I can hear Kyle on the other side and I'm almost ashamed to say how quickly my speed picked up.

"It is," I answer, leaning into the frame. His smile widens and so does my heart.

Oh, boy.

"I miss you, As."

"I miss you more."

He shakes his head, "Doubt it."

I move us so that I'm leaning against my headboard and Blake lays on my chest.

Brandon comes into the frame and my smile is immediately wiped off my face.

"Move. I'm trying to talk to my boyfriend."

"As, I'm sorry-"

"My name is Astin and I don't want to talk to you. Put Kyle back on."

He takes the phone somewhere else and mugs me.

"I'm going to hang up." I warn him, my finger already hovering over the red button.

"Can you just chill for a second? Damn. I'm sorry for saying all that shit to you. It was uncalled for and I knew I shouldn't throw Bla-"

Click.

I throw Austin's phone to the side and pull Blake into my lap.

"Hey-"

Austin's phone starts going off with a picture of Kyle and I, the name "bro n law" shown at the top. I roll my eyes and accept the call.

"Yes?"

Kyle sighs, raising an eyebrow at me through the camera. "You have to talk to him sometime."

I roll my eyes, "I don't have to. Y'all want me to. There's a difference, I promise."

"You miss him."

I can't help the scoff and unladylike snort that tubes from me before I can hold back.

"I know you lying. He's an a-hole! And he attacked me! After basically forcing you on me!"

Kyle rubs a hand down his face and huffs. "Okay, baby. We'll talk about it when I get back. Bye, princess! Happy Birthday!"

"Bye daddy, love you!" Blake squeals, clutching my neck, oblivious of the tension building in my chest.

"I love you both." He says, looking pointedly at me.

"Bye Kyle; we'll talk when you get back."

He pauses for a moment before sighing once again and hanging up.

"You didn't tell daddy you loved him!"

I pull Blake onto my lap and kiss her head.

"Mommy likes da- Kyle, very, very, very, very much. She just doesn't know if she loves him, yet, okay?" Her eyebrows furrow and I can clearly see she doesn't understand.

"But you love me?"

"Of course, but the love I have for you is different than the love I would have for Kyle. I love you because you grew in me and you're a large part of your daddy, who mommy misses so much."

She cocks her head to the side and chuckles. "Mommy, you're silly! Daddy is only gone for a couple days!"

I start to correct her and then I think about how it isn't the time, and she's a too young to understand so instead of making her push her little mind to the limit, I lead her into her room and start getting her dressed for her birthday bash.
