I was going to kill him. I was going to take his 6'9, worm head, slender man looking, Bambi built bitch, "um", "of course", busted lip faceass, and kill him. The asshole didn't have a right saying what he'd said to Astin about us or Blake.

"Calm down please." Astin mutters from inside my shoulder. "I can feel your anger and I don't like it."

I huff and she raises her head off of me. I glance at her puffy, red eyes and get upset all over again.

"Kyle, baby, please." She puts a warm hand on my face and I melt into her touch.

"Let me get one punch and I'm good." I tell her, grabbing her waist so she's straddling me.

"No," She says through clenched teeth. "Do not punch him. He's still my best friend." I roll my eyes and she grabs my chin. She forces me to look into her eyes and I'm gone again.

"Promise me you won't bother him about this."

I could barely think straight with her on me and looking at me like she was so I just nod with a slack jaw. Her eyes shine brighter as she gets a triumphant grin on her face. You're so whipped.

She's starts to say something as the door swings open. Astin jumps from my lap and damn near falls off the bed from being so dramatic.

"Hey..." Ashley walks in with a wide eyed Blake on her hip and two raised eyebrows. "Blake was asking for you."

My eyebrows furrow as I swing my legs over the side of the bed and grab her from her aunt. "You wanted me, princess?"

She nods and snuggles into my neck before huffing loudly. "I'm tired, Kyle." She whines.

I bounce her and rub her back while pacing so she can fall asleep before I put her down.

"I'll be downstairs." Ashley mutters looking at us curiously.

As soon as she's gone Astin reaches for Blake and I move away.

"She asked for me, baby." I murmur, still focusing on Blake. Astin frowns and folds her arms over her chest like that's going to make much a difference.

"Blake, you asked for Kyle?" She nods and looks at her mom briefly, before finding her way back into the crock of my neck.

"Kira kept talking about what her daddy got her for her birthday, mommy. I don't have a daddy to get me presents."

I see tears forming in Astin's eyes and I use my other arm to put around her shoulders.

"You have grandpa and pop pop, baby. What about-"

"I want a daddy!" She exclaims before turning to me and holding my face. "Will you be my daddy?"

"Blake. Alea. Car-"

"Of course, baby girl." I interrupt, not sparing a glance at Astin because I'm sure she'd have a different answer.

"Thank you." She wraps her arms around my neck and I smile slightly.

"Do you want to sleep for a bit?" She nods and I take her into her room and lay her down before coming back to face Astin's wrath. As I step back into the main room I'm met with Astin's back, her tense muscle made clear through the thin T-shirt she's wearing.

"As-"

"Shut the fuck up, Kyle. Why would you do that? I could've handled it; I would've handled it! You're always putting yourself into something you don't belong in. She's not even three! She doesn't know what she wants or how she's feeling. And now you've told her you'll be her dad? You aren't a parent and no matter how much you think you know how to care for a child, you don't. You haven't even been around her long enough to know what she likes to do, her schedule, her mannerisms- but you told her you'll be her dad." She scoffs.

She had a point. Hell, she had a thousand points, but that wasn't going to change the fact that I meant what I said. I planned on being in both their lives for long time so why put off the inevitable.

I grab Aston by her shoulders and pull her into my chest, topping her head with my chin.

"She knows she wants a dad, babe. Yeah, she probably doesn't know what that exactly means but she knows she wants someone to call daddy. Hers is gone so I'll be more than happy to step up to the plate. Okay, I don't know everything about her and I don't know how to parent but I can learn. I want to be with you- with you both, for a long time."

"You just barely know us." She mumbles, pulling her head up and stepping away.

I sigh, "Astin Parker, child of Ashton and Aaliyah Parker. You're from Atlanta, but you stay in L.A. for periods of time. You have a daughter, Blake, who you'd give your last breath for. She's the sweetest, smartest, and most beautiful little girl I've ever meant, just like her mom. You have an identical twin although your eyes are darker than hers and both your dimples show. When you're angry your right eyebrow like, dips in and your left one stays straight. Your eyes legitimately sparkle when you're happy or proud and when you're trying not to laugh your nose crinkles up.  Your favorite color is orange and you hate royal, navy and dark blue. You're a morning person and you smile a lot without even realizing it and-"

Her hand covers my mouth and I can see she's fighting a smile by how she's sucking in a cheek.

"You're a creep, Kyle."

I grab her at the waist and press a kiss to her head. "I'm just observant," I pause to allow a cheeky smirk to cover my face. "Queen Kuzma."
