Chapter 8...
Mini Chappie <3
---------------
"What promise?" Ryan crosses his arms and raises an eyebrow at me.
"You know, to take me hunting." I give him an equally snooty look.
"That? That wasn't a promise."
"But you said you would." I straighten up.
"Ugh, Evalin..." Ryan whines.
"Stop trying to avioid it! Your going to have to take me sooner or later!" I cry loudly.
"I know. I know. Let's just get it over with, okay? I'll come get you at seven tonight."
"Awesome." I grin, and Ryan glares at me. I bound off the bed and rush into his arms before he leaves.
"What was that for?" He snickers.
"I've just been missing you...we have been seeing eachother less and less."
"I know, it sucks. But I'll see you tonight and at school."
"Yeah. Please don't let any more teachers hit on you."
"Yeah, huh? I see Mr. Hechten check you out every time you leave his class."
I gasp, "No way!"
"Yes way. He sorta leans back and makes this weird face, then shakes his head like 'damn, she's hot."
"Kiss me." I demand. Ryan grins, attaching his lips to mine swiftly. Chills run down my spine and my arms shake slightly. I'm still new to this. I've never kissed anyone before. And not like this. Ryan breaks away first, leaving me nearly falling into him from being so preoccupied. He laughs, as always, then pecks my forehead before he leaves the room and I'm alone again.
I take a shower and dress for the day before I get started on more homework. I pull out all the books and assignment sheets, getting as comfortable as I can as I prepare to endure more tedious hours of work. I think back to Emilia. I haven't gone back to the alleyway since a long time ago, and I should really be continuing to investigate. Something was there, and so close to my understanding. I decide that tomorrow night I will go out again and find out what I can. And this time, I would need to fit into the crowd hanging down there as much as possible. And that meant dressing like a complete slut, so I could get into any clubs or places I needed to in order to find out more. I'm sure of one thing. Emilia was murdered somewhere in that alleyway, and I need to find out exactly where.
Later on in the day as I return to my room with a snack, the phone rings. It barely ever does.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Evalin?" I recognize that intelligent voice.
"Gavin? How'd you get this number?" I ask.
"Oh, I looked you up in that number book thing. Not to be a stalker..."
"Haha, no, it's okay. What's up?"
"I was just wondering, would you like to do something later on in the week?"
"I...Uh...Like a date?" I rasp unsurely.
"No, of course not. I hear you and Ryan Everdon are, um, involved. I mean as friends." Well, that's nice of him, but why?
"Oh, yeah...well, that would be nice to get together. What do you have in mind?"
"Nothing particular, really. Anything you'd like."
"Oh," I chuckle nervously, "Um, maybe..." I trail off.
"The park? I've just been wanting to talk to you lately, I'm not quite sure why." Gavin returns the nervousness. Does he like me? I find cheeks blush slightly even to myself.
