~when william&John are almost adults~
"Boys come down to eat dinner!" I yelled."boys?"
I look around the house for John and William as I see they are outside again.
"Boys come Inside dinner is ready and what are you two doing out here anyway?"
"Showing John this new gun I got today."William says.
"Does your father know about this?"
The boys look at each other for a moment.
"Um... yes!" William says as he put the gun behind his back.
"Well fine now come in before your food gets cold."
As the boys go inside I see Hercules was reading something at the table.
"Y/n look at this." Herc hands me the letter.  I  bold letters it said U.S
GOVERNMENT. I read the letter as It says Williams name.
"William Cooke mulligan what is this?!"I yell.
"Mother I can explain."
"Before you explain anything Mr you are not joining!"
"Mother come on!"
"I will not have my son killed in battle."
"Well I wasn't alone I this John wanted to go as well!"
"Hey don't drag me into this conversation will!"
"Both of you will not go you are my sons as I will not leg you get killed."
"Mother I'm 20 years old as John is 18 we are not little kids anymore."
"Well you are to me! I cannot loose one of you you are all that I will have!"
The room went dead silent as I rushed into my bedroom. Hercules followed trying to stop me.
"Y/n Let me in please."
I open the door letting Herc In as I was crying.
"Herc I can't loose my children please I can't!"
"Y/n I know they are our sons but soon they will have to go. They can't stay here forever." Herc wiped my tears away.
"If something ever happened to them our story will be lost."
"It will not.  You hanged birth to 2 beautiful boys and look where they are now they will lead our future to a strong county. Now maybe you should go get some rest. "
Herc kissed me and goes back down with the boys. I thought what Herc said as maybe it will be the right thing for them to do it.
                   ~later at night~
As Herc went to bed the boys where ready to go to bed as I walk into there room as they where sitting on there beds.
"Mother what's wrong?"
"Boys your father and I have talked and about earlier I am sorry about that as I think it would be a good idea if you joined."
"Mother are you serious?" John says.
I nod my head." You boys are turning into strong men as it would be for you to make your own choices."
William and John Hug me.
"We love you mother."
"I love you two so much!"
      when time comes and goes the boys where all ready for there first training as they where ready to ride off.
"William wait i have something for you." I run back inside the house as I grab my father's hat."your grandfather would be proud to see you wear his hat."
"But mother..."
"Go on you two before the general gets mad at you for being late." William and John Hug me and Herc one last time before they rode off. As me and Herc watch tbem ride off I felt hercs arm around mg waste.
"You did the right thing y/n."
"I did and I pray for them to please be safe."
