I awoke to the soft pitter patter of rain against the window. I looked at my arms and sank when I realized it wasn't a dream. At least no one would question when they saw me in sleeves. I let my hair down and held it back with a pink and white bando. I got dressed in white elbow sleeve top and a white shorts with pink trimmings. I decided to wear my white kreps as well and pair it with my white knapsack. So much white. The entire opposite of what I was feeling.

I walked to the bus stop and waited patiently for the bus. My mind replayed the incident. As the bus approached I decided to leave my problems there. I wanted to enjoy today and nothing was gonna stop that. I boarded the bus and pushed my earphones in my ear. The drive was short yet seemed so long. I got off and entered the school. I walked to my locker and opened it. Looking inside at nothing in particular.

"Isa!" Desia walked up to me and hugged me tightly. I jumped back and tears filled my eyes at the pericing pain I felt.

Desia locked my locker and pulled me into the female restroom down the hall. She checked if any one was inside and it was clear.

"What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Concern laced her voice.

I nodded my head and allowed my heart to express itself through the tears I was caging all along.

"What happened Isa?"

I pulled my sleeves up slowly and held my hair up. Her eyes bulged out of their sockets as she examined the brusies.

"Who did this?"

I didn't want her to know it was him.

"WHO ISA!?" She glared at me dangerously. "ISA CALADRINA IF YOU DON'T DON'T ANSWER ME THIS SECOND I WILL ADD MORE BRUSHES TO YOUR BODY! NOW WHO!?"

"My father."

Her mouth dropped open for a few seconds. I pulled my sleeves down and fixed my hair. I rinsed my salty face and told her what happened after I got home yesterday. Her face turned from sympathy to anger and I swear I myself was afraid to look at her.

"Oh hell no!" She was exiting the bathroom quickly when I pulled her back. "Wait till Grayson and Will hears this."

"No Desia! Don't!"

"Why the hell not! It's bad enough he shouts at you for no reason and calls you names but now he wants to beat you! Oh f**k no!" Desia wasn't the type to swear so I knew her anger was sky high when I heard it. She pulled from me again and opened the door.

"Think about Quin!" I shouted just in time. She stopped, slammed the door and cursed.

"He lost his mom Desia and this would only add more stress to him. He's too young. I can't do that. If this happening to me is what I have to go through for my baby brother to eat good food and sleep in a good bed. . . then so be it." Tears slid down my face again. Desia hugged me around my waist and I cried on her shoulder. She patted my back gently until I was finished. I washed my face again and she fixed my hair and we exited the bathroom.

I went back to my locker and packed my books inside.

"Isa?" Desia called me.

"Yeah"

"Zale is staring at you." That statement alone made my cheeks warm and my cold body heat up.

"Oh my God! Your blushing." Desia shout whispered.

"I'm not!" I shout whispered back. She chuckled and walked me to my class.
I felt better now that someone knew and I had a shoulder to cry on. Math and ComStudies flew by and lunch came fast enough. I was hungry seeing I had no breakfast and I used most of my energy crying.
