chapter 28

Thalias POV:

There was little light in the dark room from the lit candle. I felt a cold, hard slap against my cheek. I slowly lifted my shaky hand up to my cheek. "O-ow." My voice cracked. The man slapped me so hard it caused my face to turn so I was looking the other way. Then the man sliced my cheek with his knife, just lightly, but still leaving an open cut. I dont know why he slit my cheek, thats a weird place to cut with a knife. Or at least I thought. Then I felt a tear roll down my cheek, caused by the pain. The tear rolled down my face, and into the fresh open cut on my cheek. It burned and stinged like hell. I didnt know how I would escape this time. We were in the middle of nowhere. No one would be able to hear our cries or pleads for help.

Matts POV:

I seen the strange man slap Thalia and slit her cheek lightly. I couldn't bear to watch it. I turned away and a tear wanted to fall through my eye. The man noticed me and slowly walked over to me. He said "Awee, pretty boy has feelings! Well isn't that just adorable." He got real close to my face and looked me dead in the eye. He said "So, you really care about this Thalia girl, huh? It'd be real bad if something happened to her. Now wouldn't it? And what if I just made you watch me torture her? Now that wouldn't be so bad now would it? You should be with the boss anyways. She said you two really had a thing. Before this whore came around and ruined everything. So we're gonna fix everything so you and the boss can be together." The boss? Was she the one who tried leaving Thalia to die? I didn't want her! She deserves to be in prison! I looked over at Thalia and ignored the man standing in front of me. She was trying not to cry. I could see her pain and fear. I loved her so much. I didnt wanna see anything happen to her. She truly didnt deserve this. I just wanted to protect her but I failed. All I had left was hope. The men finally left the room and left us there. They said they woukd return tomorrow. But, before they left, they tied us both to a chair and left. He did forget something on Thalias chair though...

Sorry these updates have been so short. The next couple chapters are most likely going to be short. Its just that I like leaving cliff hangers for suspense :) But I hope you guys don't mind! Thanks so much for reading it really means alot!
