chapter 30

Thalias POV:

Matt and I were running as fast as we could. We had no idea where we were. It was literally in the middle of nowhere. We ran through the tall, itchy grass. I ran about halfway through it when I ran into a hard object and fell to the floor. I couldnt make out what it was, since it was still really dark outside. I was squinting my eyes, trying to figure out what it was, when it started moving closer to me. I scattered around trying to find my balance so I could run away. I quickly stood up and tried to run, but the shadowy figure dragged me back by my hair. And after that, everything went black.

*2 hours later*

Thalias POV:

I woke up chained to a wall, and Matt was gone. Did he leave me? Was he in a different room? Did they take him somewhere? Did he run away without me? A million thoughts raced through my mind when I heard someone shout "Hey! Shes awake!" causing me to break out of my thoughts. I didnt see who it was though. I was so weak I couldnt turn my head. The four men walked in. One of them walked up to me and stroked my face gently. Then slapped me across my face. I said "W-where, wheres Matt?" I could barely say the words because I was so weak. The man chuckled. He said "Sweetheart, he left you the first chance he got. He doesn't care about you. He doesn't love you. He left you. He saved himself." A tear rolled down my cheek, and into my cut, but I liked the pain. All my hope was gone. I just wanted to die. I honestly didn't care anymore. I knew they were going to torture me and make me suffer. I just wanted it all to be over. Matt left me, and if hes gone, then I wanna be gone. I just wanted to get it over with. I wished they would just kill me already.
