niall thought of blake as an interesting person, he liked that about her. he loved talking to her although she tried pushing him away from her. he'd been trying to get her attention, everywhere he seemed to go she was there so he decided it'd be great to go and start a conversation with her. blake herself thought niall was not interesting but weird. she never met anyone who tried to get to know her better but then niall came along, she wasn't sure if she was happy or not about it. she sort of always wanted someone to come along the way to try a figure her out even though she tried to exclude herself from the entire world.
they both sat on the bench in the park, niall sat asking blake questions about herself. blake allowed him to, sometimes she'd answer or just shrug but she liked the company. as she sat there muttering to niall, she began to think about why she always locked herself in her room like she was trying to punish herself for no apparent reason. she didn't want to, but it was just what made her feel better. now here she is, actually talking to someone. it's been awhile but niall and blake just had a connection right away. blake thought he was funny, yet clumsy. he entertained her. he made her feel better after herself.
blake thought the way niall complimented her was too much, he kept calling her beautiful, perfect, strong and saying he liked her pink hair. yes, he was telling the truth, everything he spoke was true. niall wanted to stay on the bench with blake throughout the whole day, talking about anything, he wouldn't care. every time wind would blow her fading pink hair into her face, he'd delicately push it behind her ears giving her a charming smile. she'd just simply smile back, looking down at her dainty hands. she was so fragile, she was unconfident about herself, little did she know niall thought she was the much gorgeous girl he'd ever seen.
"you're insecure." niall said to blake, swishing his mouth to the left.
she responded with a small simple shrug and nothing more.
"you do know that you're beautiful, blake?" he lays a finger underneath her chin, pushing her head up so she could stare directly at him and not her skinny hands.
"you're telling lies." blake says lowly, too low that niall can't hear anything responding with a 'what'. she doesn't repeat what she says but shrugs again.
he kept asking her what she said, but no words came out her mouth she stood silent. after niall trying to get her to repeat what she said they intentionally changed the subject talking about another subject, blake didn't say much during this conversation her mind was elsewhere. she pretended to listen at least. of course, niall noticed it but decided not to say anything about it even though he truly wanted to know what was on her mind.
time passed leaving the both of them, only in the dark with the stars above and the lamp post around them. as blake checked the time is was only a quarter to nine, she needed to at least get home now so she wouldn't worry her mum to death.
quickly, she hopped off the bench straightening her dungaree dress out.
"wait, where're you going?" niall asked her before standing right beside her.
she hesitated before answering, "home?" didn't he notice how late in the night it was already? blake couldn't simply just stay out with him all night and talk to him about sweet nothing. although blake wanted to talk to niall, it was her time to go.
"can i see you again?"
"don't you always?" a small smile appeared on blake's face as she tried to hide it by looking at her feet.
☼
in the morning, blake washed up and ate a small plate of bacon and waffles. she dressed herself in black leggings, a plain white v-neck, and a dark blue jean jacket. she didn't necessarily know where she'd be going today but a teeny tiny part inside of her wanted to meet up with niall. blake never got to exchange phone numbers with him, today she had to be lucky and try to see him on the street.
as blake was just about to exit the flat, she heard her sister calling her from the living room. rolling her eyes, blake entered back into the house walking into the room her sister was in.
"blake, how come you're starting to leave the house now?" avery asked, sitting up in the couch she was laying down on seconds ago.
shrugging, she leaned against the doorway of the room.
"you never know blake." avery swished her mouth side to side, "but okay, whatever you say."
after her small talk with her sister, she exited the flat once more without any interuptions. blake didn't actually know where'd she be going despite the fact that niall usually found her himself, she didn't know how he did it. he explained that he'd end up finding her on the street walking then he'd chase after her; blake still didn't exactly believe his tall tale but she was just so determined to walk around her neighbourhood at least hoping for niall to see her.
not knowing what to do, blake took a walk to the park. nobody was there, just little kids running around playing tag and swinging on the swings. blake planned to stay at the park until any sign of niall then she'd hang with him, but as the day grew to night she sighed and decided to just go back home.
both niall and blake didn't necessarily plan out where to meet each other, they just only left waving goodbye to one another.
i'll just go home, blake thought to herself, and she did so.
she admired her day with niall yesterday, she just wished they spotted each other today and they hung around. blake thought niall was probably one of the most down to earth guys, he told her anything she would want to know about him. (basically his whole entire life.) and blake sat there listening, she had such an interest in niall.
