it was seven at night and blake forgot about the date with niall, she rushed to her closet to find some decent clothing to wear. she didn't have much dresses or skirts, she was someone who would wear a lot jeans and shorts. she wasn't much of a girly girl, anyways.
she searched through her messy closet looking for a suitable outfit to where. it wasn't long until she found a skirt that she never wore in her life. blake never even knew she had it in her closet. when she tried the skirt on and it fit her perfectly, even though she didn't want to admit it, it looked nice on her. the skirt was exactly above her knee. it wasn't too short and it wasn't too long. the skirt was white - it had teeny tiny black polka dots going around the waist. it wasn't an ugly skirt.
blake soon after began her search for a shirt that would go perfectly with her skirt.
a tight black button up shirt fell off her hanger, she was quick to pick it up and try it on. it also fit nicely on her. when blake looked into the mirror right beside her closet, she looked kind of weird considering that her hair was a fading pink still. she didn't know how she could wear her hair. at first she thought of a ponytail, then a braid and then a bun, but none looked fair with her outfit.
she just simply flattened her hair and let it hang loose. it looked much better, she liked it. it was a different thing for her, she hated her hair being let out, she hated wearing skirts and stupid fancy shirts, but she was happy that she had a bit of a change.
quickly, blake found black flats that she hadn't wore in such a long while, running downstairs.
"blake, i need you in the kitchen!" her mother called her. blake didn't tell her mum about the date and to be honest, she was excited to say why she was all dressed up. blake couldn't wait for her mother to smile at her - she wanted her mother to pull her into a tight hug and tell her how much she was happy for blake - she couldn't wait.
when she entered the kitchen, her mother tilted her head to the left in confusion. "why're you all dressed up, blake?"
"niall." was the only word that left her mouth.
her mother smiled and did exactly what blake wished for, she hugged her tightly, leaving a small kiss on her forehead. "this is great, blake. when is he picking you up? i want to take a few pictures! this is your first date ever, isn't it?"
nodding, blake's cheeks burned. she was quite embarrassed that she'd never been on a date before; blake never had a boyfriend either. this was all new to her, and she was glad that she was going to experience it. it made her anxious, she couldn't wait.
her blue eyes took a short glimpse of the time - it was eight fourty. niall was soon to be on his way, blake's excitement took the best of her. she needed to relax and listen to music, so she headed into her room, turning the volume of her mp3 player up high enough so she could listen.

niall had been waiting for a response from the doctors to make sure his mother was okay, but no one called him up to the front desk yet.
he started to grow impatient and worried all at the same time. what was he going to do? she needed to be alright, she had to be. niall kept thinking back to when he found her unconscious, she was barely breathing. he kept thinking of the 'what ifs', he couldn't stop, he was only worrying himself even more.
one thing niall forgot about was his date with blake, he couldn't pick her over his mother. he wished he had a phone to call her, but he didn't have her number, anyways. this was one of the worst days possible for niall, he wondered if anything could get worst.
"excuse me, are you niall?" a female wearing a nurses uniform walked up to him with a clipboard in one of her dainty hands, "horan?"
he nodded, his heart beated faster and faster every second. "yes, what is it?"
"your mother, she's fine. she's asleep at the moment and needs to rest, if i allow you to see her i don't want you bothering her."
"yeah-yes, okay." he gulped, "i'm just wondering, what happened?"
the nurse cleared her throat, "well, you do know she has cancer? correct? anyways, she's beginning to get worst, her vision in her other eye has been effected and she's nearly blind. when we checked her health statuses, she wasn't as strong as she was before. she hasn't been taking her medication we assumed, but we'd like to keep her in the hospital until she's better."
coughing, niall began to get even more worried. what would happen if she didn't get better? would she still have a chance of living?
"if she doesn't get better, i don't want it to be a surprise for you. we're going to be doing our best to keep her alive and strong, understand?"
he hoped they were going to do so, because if they weren't going to, he was going to be devastated. he loved his mother so much and if he lost her, he didn't know what he would do. she mean't too much to him. niall wished she never had cancer, he wished cancer was never a sickness at all. but why did it have to happen to his mother?
