There is no love triangle in TMI

It really bugs me when people talk about the love triangle in The Mortal Instruments. Okay, so there is some confusion in the relationships, and yes there is a Maia+Simon+Izzy love triangle in the later books, but not in the first one. I saw this comment on Putlocker saying the movie had a lot of elements of other stuff; Twilight for the love triangle (and there is no love triangle) and the Downworlder stuff (but I think it's probably different), and Divergent, yes, Divergent, because she is one of few special people. Well no. Being a Shadowhunter is very different from being Divergent. Divergents supposedly threaten the system and are hidden and rare, even amongst themselves, while Shadowhunters are like the witches/wizards in HP. Divergent is nothing like TMI. And saying they stole something from Divergent is crap, because Divergent stole so much from Hunger Games it's not even funny. Like the first page. Mom helps daughter get ready for important event. Fighting. The basis of the books are different, but otherwise wow. And The Hunger Games was better, in my opinion.

Now for TID there is a love triangle, and it's the stupidest thing ever. BUT NOT TMI!!!! That's why I like TMI!!! There's no polygamy-love-triangle bullshit like most other books!!! It's beautiful for that! So is Divergent. And Percy Jackson. If you've met the love of your life, you shouldn't find a second one. Jem and Tessa just seem too forced. Peeta and Katniss have no chemistry, they're just so "happy" together, blah blah blah. Ugh. And they were forced together in order to stay alive, and that kind of relationship doesn't work in the real world.

So take this as a warning- love triangles are bad. If you think about it, they encourage polygamy. Polygamy is bad. Very, very bad. They also encourage cheating on your BF/GF. Want to be cheated on in a relationship? I don't think you do. So much for feeling like you're special when you've got a replacement!

So just, like, no love triangles. Just find other ways to ruin fictional characters' relationships. But no love triangles.
