Nothing felt real, my surroundings were a different colour, temperature and feeling. I could sense that this wasn't real life, and it wasn't the Other Side either. My real body was either unconcious, or the worse possible thing, dead. But how or why, I had no clue. And why I was alone? I didn't know either.

My eyes scanned around the empty, cold grey street. For some reason I was stood directly outside the compound. Something small on the floor by the door caught my attention. I let my feet curiously wander towards it.

I bent down, picking up a small teddy, one that belonged to Theo. I felt a heavy aching in my chest before facing the door and turning the handle but it wouldn't open.

I frowned, "What the hell?" I tried to push the large doors with my hands but they wouldn't budge, "Klaus? Theo?"

After a few seconds of pounding my fists against the metal, I headed towards the corner, trying to find another way inside. As I turned the corner, the scenery changed into a graveyard. More specifically, Mystic Falls cemetery.

A surprised gasp escaped my lips at the sudden change. My eyes locked on the large grey Salvatore crypt standing infront of me. I scanned around the area, hoping for someone to be here. Anyone. But like the street, it was empty.

I clutched onto Theo's teddy as I moved towards the crypt and headed inside it. Infront was the still shiny plaque that read Stefan's name, the same as it was the last time I saw it. I cautiously inched towards it, reaching forward and running my fingers across the metal. God, I missed him so much.

My brows pulled together as I noticed my reflection, there was something resting on my ear in my hair. I hadn't felt it until now, like it had just appeared. It was a purple cocktail umbrella, the exact one Klaus had placed in my hair all them years ago.

I pulled my hand from Stefan's plaque and gently brushed my fingertip over the small umbrella, "Klaus?"

As I continued to stare at my reflection, I noticed something appear on my shirt. I glanced down, seeing a red stain. Using my free hand, I pulled the bottom of my shirt outwards to get a better look. It wasn't blood, it was strawberry.

My eyes widened in realisation, a memory of the Mikaelson ball flashing around me, "Kol..."

I knew what was happening. I was in my own mindspace, not dead, not in some hell world or other side. My brain was going through random stages of missing the people I love. As soon as I latched onto this idea, my surroundings began to shake as though there was a mild earthquake. I could feel that I was now in full control. What I needed was to wake up, so I pressed my eyes shut and thought of nothing else.

A small gasp escaped my lips and I instantly felt a throbbing in my head. I slowly opened my eyes to see a ceiling. I turned my head slightly on a pillow and scanned the room, realising I was in Klaus' bedroom. I was awake.

It was then I remembered what had happened. Klaus had smashed the Hollow's totem and then I felt stabbing pains in my chest and then... nothing. I glanced down to my chest, pressing my hand over the area to see the wounds had healed.

Not only had the pain from that gone, but the hidden miniscule feeling that had been inside of me for over sixty-five years had gone too.
