▂▂▂▂"What are you talking about?" A voice asked from the entrance of the room.
Kol's hands fell from my arms as I turned my body towards it, seeing Klaus now standing in the doorway. My eyebrows slightly pulled together as I remained silent. He moved closer, his gaze on mine, "Cassie?"
"I thought you went to find Vincent." I said.
"He and the others are discussing a plan to bring Hope back here." Klaus replied. He looked towards his brother before back to me, "I thought I'd ask you to listen in, but it seems you're discussing other things. What do you mean by we will never see Hope?"
"I thought you'd all already know." I responded, glancing to Kol then back to him, "I thought it was obvious."
Klaus let out a breath, walking closer to me, "Well, I certainly have no clue. Care to elaborate on the matter?"
I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Maybe you should talk to Vincent."
He shook his head, "I want to hear it from you, Cassie."
I took in a deep breath, "When this happens, from what I gathered from Vincent's ritual, as soon as the Hollow enters all four of you, it's going to want to return to the most powerful thing it's been in: Hope. If you four go near her or each other, it's going to want to reconnect to itself and then her body. Klaus, to keep Hope safe, you can never see her again, ever."
It was silent for a moment as Klaus processed this information. He shifted a little on his feet, as though he felt a little anxious.
His blue eyes locked on mine, "Well, I said I will do whatever it takes to ensure my little girl is safe, so I stand by doing this. No matter the consequences I suffer."
I glanced at Kol, who was still stood beside me, "Kol, can you give Klaus and I some privacy?"
The youngest Mikaelson nodded, "Of course."
Kol headed out of the room as I moved towards Klaus. I let out a sigh as I took his hand in mine, stroking my thumb against the back of it in comfort, "I know how difficult this is for you. I'm sorry -- "
Klaus cut me off as he shook his head, " -- you don't need to apologise, you did nothing wrong. The Hollow is the only problem in our lives and there's only one way to stop it, so it must be done."
It fell silent as I swallowed the anxious lump in my throat. We stayed like that for a moment, in silence, my hand in his. Then as I met his gaze, I spoke again, "We need to discuss what we're going to do after the ritual."
"You and Theo are going to go with Hayley and Hope." Klaus responded.
I stared at him in confusion before shaking my head, "No, no. No, Theo and I are staying with you, Klaus."
"You did it for five years, the four of you together." Klaus stated, "I'm sure you can do it for an eternity."
"Klaus, listen to me." I closed the gap between us as I gazed into his eyes, "I promised that I would never leave you, and I'm not breaking that promise. Ever."
"What about the school you wanted Theo to go to?" Klaus questioned, "I thought you wanted him to be with kids his own age?"
"Theo's five, I'm not ready to leave him at a boarding school." I told him, "Maybe in a few years, when he's ready, but not right now. Right now it's just you, Theo and I."
