Knuckles hit the door five times in rapid succession, silencing for merely a few seconds before beginning again. It startles Hana, who abruptly sits up in bed and rubs the sleep from her eyes. She throws the comforter off of her body, swinging her legs over the edge to go open the door.
Before she can even reach the doorknob, it twists open, and Youngmin stands before her, a wide smile on his face. "Rise and shine, sweet cheeks! Breakfast is ready."
"Why are you here?" She squints at the boys, still disheveled from sleep as he pulls her along down the stairs. At the kitchen table, Daehwi and Donghyun are already seated, greeting her as she enters. Woojin walks in with two cups of orange juice in his hands, and when Hana makes eye contact with him, she's reminded of last night. Her face burns at the memory, and she's suddenly wide awake, dropping her eyes and moving to the vacant seat beside Donghyun. She glances at Youngmin, trying to gauge a reaction from him, but if he knew anything already, he doesn't say anything.
She figures the boys already knew about what happened to her home, either Woojin or Youngmin had filled them in on it, and that was probably why they were here, just to confirm for themselves that she was okay. Though she admits that sounds a bit conceited. Maybe it was part of a routine to have breakfast together every Saturday morning, or hell, maybe they just felt like it today and Hana had intruded.
"We were worried about you." Donghyun confesses, handing her a plate of pancakes. She smiles gratefully at him, taking it and placing it in front of her. "I'm okay. I just don't know how I'm going to explain this to my parents."
"You won't have to." Daehwi says, grinning. "Why is it that you always forget you're friends with mages?"
Hana blankly nods, "I mean, unless you have a bunch of friends that can help me put my house back together, I don't know what you're trying to say."
Youngmin sighs, shaking his head while smiling. "Oh, you're so cute, Hana."
Donghyun takes out his phone, tapping a number in and pressing it to his ear. It rings a few times before someone picks up. "Hey! How have you been?" He nods, listening to the voice on the line. "That's great. Listen, remember last time I saved your ass after you tripped and toppled over the railing on the roof of a forty-story building? I have a favor to ask of you from that. Uh huh. Yeah, of course. By Saturday, at the latest. No, take your time. That works, see you then!" He puts the phone down and begins digging into his breakfast. "It's all taken care of, Hana. Your house will be in tiptop shape before your parents come back."
"I still don't understand." Hana frowns, unable to follow along.
Donghyun pushes the syrup toward her, explaining, "We have a friend who knows how to put things back together quite well. Including destroyed homes. He's busy till Saturday, but promises to swing by and have your house looking the way it used to in no less than two hours."
Hana nods, still not convinced. What kind of magic could this guy possess if he can supposedly put her house back together?
"Restoration," Daehwi answers, "he's been breaking things since he was young, sort of a clumsy guy. How ironic is it that he has the ability to repair the things he's always breaking?"
"I appreciate the help but I don't want you to pull someone in who has no idea who I am." Hana reasons. It wasn't fair to this friend of theirs to suddenly be tasked to repair a whole house.
"Oh, trust me, he knows who you are." Youngmin's lips turn up in a small, teasing smirk. Woojin chokes on his food, heaving coughs as he reaches for something to drink. Daehwi quickly passes his cup over to the older, patting his back. Youngmin continues, "I'm sure he wouldn't mind, especially if he gets to meet you."
Hana feels half-excited, half-terrified. A stranger that is supposedly a good friend of the boys' wants to meet her when she's done nothing but attract more demons to town and digging herself into a bigger hole in the magical world.
"Don't worry about it." Woojin hastily says with red ears. He gets up from his seat with an empty plate in hand. "Anyone want more pancakes?"
