"What?"
"I choose the Spirit," Brianna announced, causing silence throughtout the crowd.
"Why?" I sneered, knowing damn well what a backstabbing liar she was.
"I wanted to ask for your forgiveness, Rebecca."
I couldn't believe my ears. She peered into my eyes across the field, looking sincere. I froze, unknowingly tearing up. After what she did, I just couldn't. She killed people, and made the list inevitable.
"No." My voice shook. "I won't forgive you."
She reared back, standing at Satan's side.
"Then I guess this is what it comes to."
"War?" Katherine whispered frantically, looking at the animals for an answer.
"If gathered together, and one side declares war, we're forced to fight," Molly spoke softly and hopelessly. "This is the Magic War."
Katherine's eyes widened, as they flicked towards Ethan. Ethan looked emotionally torn up, and unwilling as well.
"Is there a way to stop this?" Katherine questioned, her eyes set on Ethan.
"Yeah, but someone has to die." Bella glanced at me innocently, and I knew right in that moment. I have to die.
I quickly grasped a weapon before anyone could stop me, and raised it to my head, after switching the adjustment. Demon. Katherine should know what to do. I made eye contact with the blonde, nodded before I pulled the trigger, leading me to my death bed.
**********
The gun shot rang in our ears, following Rebecca's body that dropped to the ground, her hair cascaded over her face. I saw the notion she gave me... She expects me to finish her dirty work.
Suddenly, Ethan lashed out, slicing Brianna's head clean off with a Samurai sword. I jumped away at Ethan's movement. (Even though he was tewnty yards away.) My friends were glancing at me, waiting for my reaction, as though to righten their own for freaking out in future references.
Satan looked pissed, glaring at Ethan, as though ready to light him on fire. He snapped, hitting the shit out of him, making Ethan fall to the ground like the helpless boy he once was. That son-of-a-bitch.
My mind blurred with rage, as everyone stood in shock, no action being taken.
"No!" I screamed, Satan flying to the edge of the Pine trees. I ran for Ethan, ignoring the animals protests in denial. I fell to the ground next to Ethan, placing my hands to his face, a tear streamed down his consuming brown eyes, glimmering with desperation. I pulled him into a hug, feeling his tense muscles curl into my body, as though desperate for this action.
The others were by my side quickly afterwards, watching Ethan with sympathy. Coleman and Leah looked shocked at my affections, which was honestly the last thing I would admit I wanted to do. Ethan kept his face turned away from them, as though ashamed for showing emotions.
"We have to go," Sammy's shockingly deep voice approached my ears. I looked past Ethan's broad shoulders, seeing the angry Devil rushing towards us.
"We can't leave him," I demanded.
"We don't have a choice!" Sammy's voice roared, his human hand trying to roughly pry Ethan and I off each other. I clung for dear life, as well as Ethan.
