"So what are we supposed to do?" Hazel panicked. Cody's breathing increased, as Alex and Leah stared at me, bewildered.
"Maybe we should meet up with Ethan. Or, I will."
"No. I want to see this for myself. We all should," Leah volunteered everyone in the tragic event.
"I don't want you to. It may sound disturbing, and brutally revolting, but I care about you guys. If anything happens because of Ethan, I'll lose my mind." I stared at each one of them, my honesty making my innards tingle. Putting your faith in more human beings: thought you learned your lesson the last twelve times. I tried my best to scrape the thought away, but it stuck like a bug splat on a windshield.
"We're supposed to be in this together," Coleman suddenly strutted his way in, his bad-ass bounce step making everyone more irritable. "I know things, Katherine... that I shouldn't. I know about the Chosen Ones, the Enemies, Ethan."
Dread flooded my body. He's involved. Does that mean he's on the other side, and he knows from experience?
"I told Ethan to meet us at his old house, and Sam and Samantha's. He's on his way."
"How?" I had to know as soon as possible. He went to leave the room, as I rushed my hand forward, feeling a wave of power rush from my mind through my hand. The door slammed in his face.
The others backed away from me, like I was the monster in their dreams. I looked around at them frantically, visualising my appearance of the dangerous animal backed into the corner. I teared up, avoiding the eye contact that seeped into my soul.
"There's some things I should tell you," my voice shook, feeling the monster within slowly wearing down back into its hidden chamber. "I will do it later. But no one's leaving this room." My voice sounded threatening, which I didn't really mean to do. But that's what I do best. Fail. I fail at everything I do, and ruin everything I touch.
Coleman came at me, so I threw my hand up in the defense, knocking him into the door without laying a finger on him.
"I don't know what you've been doing, or where you've been," I threatened, "but I certainly don't like what you're not telling me. And if you don't tell me now, I'll take the information I need."
I couldn't look at anyone around me, the fear and tension stuck to the air, and on their faces. I didn't have to look to know what they were thinking.
"Okay," Coleman confessed unwillingly. "I died." The others gasped, and I flinched, the dread forming into a pit. "I died of a drug overdose a couple months ago, the time I told you that I went to my grandparents for a week."
"You met the Spirit," I pieced it together.
"No, I met the other one."
Everyone fell into silence.
"You what?" My voice shook.
"Ethan will kill us if we don't meet him there. All you have to do, Katherine, is seduce him, and I'll use my chloroform to-".
"We're not kidnapping him," I snapped. "But we are going. You all just stand aside, and stay the hell out of my way."
**********
I pulled out of Park, and backed out of the driveway of the Chosen Animals' home. Piggy, driving the other car from behind, swerved like a mad-man, and continuously almost went into ditches.
"So, we're meeting at the place where I was turned to 'talk' to Brianna?" I tried to start conversation with them.
"Well, duh. Was that not the plan?" Blackie's sassy tone filled the car, alongside my irritable emotions. I swerved the car, making the cat and a couple others crash into the sides.
"Sorry," I apologized sarcastically.
Blackie hissed, and mumbled to herself. The others simply took the hit, and said nothing of it.
"Did you bring the weapons?" Sammy asked urgently, sitting up from the passenger seat, his paws sliding off the dashboard.
"Yes, and we're here." The animals jumped out of the car, using their powers to open the doors. We headed our way into the hellish nightmare, the moment I became what I am still fresh on my mind.
We spotted Brianna when we first arrived into the opening, and everyone else. The animals panicked, as well as I.
"Molly? Piggy? Thumper?" Katherine started. "It really is happening," she spoke, a daze. The animals made their appearances innocent, as my mind flooded with confusion.
"How do you know these animals?" I questioned.
"They're my pets, and my family's."
I couldn't concentrate on Brianna's presence. I couldn't fathom the fact that Katherine knew. I mean, she was always kind of paranoid, but the battle here was not one I envisioned in her head.
"Great, you all shown up," Satan announced, Ethan following from behind. "The war must begin."
