"Camilla, that dress is hideous." I say with a disgusted look on my face.

"You're hideous." She sneers and rolls her blue eyes. Fishing through the rack some more, she pulls out another outfit. Its a black crop top and a high waisted light turquoise skirt. "How about this?"

I cock my head to the side and nod a little. "Its cute. Better than whatever that is." I gesture over to the hideous piece of yellow fabric that sits casually on the floor of the store.

"Okay! I get it." She says throwing the outfit into our already overflowing cart. "Okay so, do we have everything?"

"Yes Camilla." I whine. "We're just having a small get together with Aspen Johnathan and Aunt B. Why do I need to look like I'm running the runway?"

"Um because its your birthday? You always have to look stylish on your birthday." She says as if that is something everyone should know.

"Ok Cam, let's go." I sag rolling my eyes.

Camilla pays for my outfit no matter how hard I push her that I want to. She said she insists since it's my birthday.

The thing is when it come to my birthday, I'm not a huge fan. I've onky ever celebrated it with my mom and Camilla and my dad. I never had a huge birthday party or anything. Just a normal stay at home family dinner kind of thing.

We drive back to the house and its already five forty-five. Apparently dinner is at six thirty somewhere but there's some kind of surprise for me to be shown before we leave. Cami rushes me upstairs to go change.

I change from my plain ripped jean shorts and loose tank into the outfit from the mall. Its cute I have too admit that. I decide to wear my favorite pair of converse since heels just aren't calling my name. I wear my hair half up, half down. I only put on mascara not looking for the effort and my favorite sunglasses. I go downstairs, pulling little strands from my hair to make it look cute.

"Hey Aunt B? I'm r-"

I stop when I see basically my entire senior class standing at the bottom of the stairs and amount them is Antonio, Damien, Aspen, Francis, Vanessa and Johnathan. "Happy Birthday Bronx!" They shout

I can't help but smile at the gesture. "John?" I ask looking at him walking down the last few stairs. "Did you do this all?" I ask curiously.

"It was Damien a idea." John says with a shrug. "We just helped."

My eyes skid over to Damien and mine meet his blue ones. They alone could make people listen to whatever he has to say. He smirks at me. Not the usual smirk. Something's off about it.

I just give him a tight-lipped smile.

"Ah! Happy Birthday!" Aspen squeals hugging me and soon enough Vanessa and Francis join.

I laugh and hug them back to the best of my ability. "thank you guys."

They smile. "Anytime. Now let's go dance!" Aspen says.

"Or...." Francis says trailing off. "We can found little miss birthday a boyfriend." She nudges my shoulder playfully.

I sigh. "I don't want a boyfriend."

"Why?" Vanessa asks.

I shrug. "Between what happened back home and Jack and now  Damien, I just realized being single is better than anything."

"You know you are way to good for any guy, right?" Vanessa confirms.

"Exactly like its insane that they all walked all over you like nothing matters." Aspen says shaking her head in disapproval.
