Nagisa's Pov

My body ached in protest as I got out of bed, blinking at the sun light streaming in through the windows. It was almost midday and I had slept through without a single nightmare. I felt like a burden had been lifted off me. Karma was back. Last night he had been true to his words and made it so I couldn't think about anything but him in my arms. My body told the story of everything we had done and I blushed as I caught my reflection in the mirror. Bruises where he had gripped me too hard, but somehow it had not been hard enough at the time. Bit and kiss marks littered my chest and neck and my lips were still swollen from his kisses.

I quickly showered, my grumbling stomach reminding me of the work out last night. I changed into a pair of jeans and a black turtle neck to cover all the marks he had left on me. Thank goodness winter had arrived and I could cover them up.

I was surprised as I made my way downstairs to hear a group of voices. Changing direction I headed towards where the voices were coming from and blinked in surprise at the group in front of me.

"Morning sleepy head."

I jumped a little as Karma slid up beside me, putting his arm around my waist and kissing the side of my head while he handed me a plate of pancakes.

"What's going on?"

Isogai got up from the small arm chair and indicated for me to sit down as I looked around. Itona, Nakamura and Kayano were sitting in front of the computer and talking on their phones. Karasuma stood by the door looking outside while Irina was pouring over a map with Sensei beside her. I went to stand up as I saw him there but he waved my efforts away as he moved over to me and knelt before me. I jumped a little when he grabbed my hand and smiled at me.

"I want to thank you."

"Me? What for?"

"For bringing Karma back."

I glanced at my lover who had moved over to see what Irina had marked on the map.

"I don't deserve to be thanked for that, I was the one responsible for it in the first place."

"You gave him his humanity back. That is no small feat. We easily lose ourselves in this job, lose our soul if you would. We all need that person that brings us back from the brink. He had no one, no matter how hard I tried I was going to lose him. You saved him Nagisa, in more ways than one."

I blushed and muttered something unintelligible as Sensei moved over to the two assassins by the map. I had never been thanked before. To feel like I had a purpose in my life and I didn't know how to react.

"What's the matter?"

Isogai had come over with some juice and saw me biting my lip, my cheeks still flushed.

"Did he give you a speech? He's an odd one, you'll get used to him."

I shook my head and he took it as me not agreeing with what he said.

"You will. Your part of this family now. Give it time, he will grow on you."

He went over to Karma's call and I was left flabbergasted again. Family. Everyone seemed so ready to accept me into their lives but I had done nothing to deserve it. Hadn't I been the fault in the first place?

I dug into my breakfast as I watched everyone pouring over their information and pacing around. They were a well knit group, each knowing what was required from the other and marking their information down on the map. I had no idea what they were doing but I found myself just enjoying watching them work.
