Aubrey's scream echoed through the halls of complete terror and pain. Aubrey started to cry as she always did when Tabitha would tease her. But this time, it wasn't a small thing, it was bigger. In other words, her life.
Tabitha was smirking as she was taking in the stream of light. Aubrey tried to calm her breathing. But another wave came and she cried out all her pain. Suddenly, the tugging stopped and some energy came back to her. She looked down, trembling, to see what stopped Tabitha.
Peter had brought out a sword and tried to strike Tabitha, but Tabitha used one arm to deflect the hit like it was nothing. The sword shattered, streaking sharpnel over the room.
"Let her go!" Cinderella cried out.
Tabitha smirked. And instantly, Aubrey knew what would happen. Aubrey braced herself for the worst.
"As you wish." Tabitha snapped her fingers and all the tangles of darkness disappeared. Aubrey plummeted to the ground. She shut her eyes, waiting for the worst. Her dress was flowing with air as she fell. Her hair flying in front of her. She was too shocked to do her spell. She did a silent cry and closed her eyes. Just when she was about to hit the ground, the clock struck twelve, and the bone shattering ringing echoed through the halls. Aubrey glimpsed Cinderella and noticed she wasn't moving. Even when her dress turned back into a simple dress. Peter slid from underneath and caught Aubrey, just as her dress turned back into shreds. But she didn't care. Peter didn't seem to care either. They were both safe.
Aubrey began to cry and embraced him in a hug. They both had a lover.
