The moment Tabitha opened her eyes, she found herself screaming as she plummeted into the green birch forest. The sky was clear of clouds. She took a glimpse of a white-brick castle with purple roofs to the left before she crashed into the trees. Luckily, she didn't hit any branches on the way down. But she did happen to catch a branch. She hung in the air, about five feet off the ground.
"Easy." Tabitha grinned and landed onto the ground on her two feet. She brushed leaves out of raven black dress. "Now, where in the world am I?"
She turned in a full circle. But then she realized that Aubrey wasn't with her. A breath of worry escaped her mouth, until her sense of exploration came back in. "Oh well, I think she's still at home."
Tabitha thought about the castle she saw. She then remembered that the castle was to the left. "Probably it would be best if I just go to the castle. After all, it's a good weather."
As if on sync, the forest got covered by a looming shadow of clouds. The last rays of sunlight disappeared as rain started to pour buckets.
Tabitha rolled her eyes," Nice. Perfect timing. Now I don't have a choice, do I?"
The thunder boomed in the distance. Tabitha kept trudging to the left, hoping to see the castle. Mud sloshed in her shoes. Her dress was plastered to her body. Finally, she saw a light. She advanced toward it and found herself in front of an oak door. She paused. But she knocked on the door. She waited. And waited.
The door creaked open, and a warm wind brushed toward her face. She breathed in the fragrant smell of dinner from the inside. Tabitha found herself face to face with a caramel colored hair boy in a blue jacket buttoned with gold buttons. What Tabitha found really interesting was that he had a gold crown on his head.
"Hello there." he said. "May I help you?"
Tabitha found it hard for her to talk. But what if he didn't let her in because she wasn't a princess?
Tabitha gave him her best smile." Hello there. I"m Tabitha. A princess from a faraway land." Tabitha found it hard to make an alibi. "The terrible storm hit and my horse ran away. I beg you for shelter." Tabitha did her best bow.
She found her finger glowing a deep purple, but quickly covered it with her skirt and used squeezing water out of her dress as an excuse.
"Just please, wait a second." the boy said before going back inside his castle. He soon came back out and held out his hand. "You can come in. My mom wants to speak with you."
