"We're back." Aubrey closed the door to meet Cinderella just finishing the last of the chores.
"How, nice. I'm almost done with the last chore. Then, I can meet you back in the cellar." Cinderella swept the dust in into a pile.
"Let's go to the cellar, Aubrey." Mary squeaked.
Aubrey's feet creaked as she hauled herself up to the cellar. She plopped the fabric down on the floor. She closed the trapdoor behind her and Mary hopped off her shoulder to meet Jaque who was snipping pink fabric with scissors.
"You're back!" Jaque exclaimed.
Mary blushed. "Of course we are."
"Mice! Look what Aubrey and Mary got us!" Jaque called over to the birds and mice. Everyone scurried or flew toward Aubrey. The birds perched themselves on the cloth covered artifacts and the mice created a semi-circle around Aubrey.
"So we got silk." Aubrey held up a roll of pink silk, that sparkled with small strands of silver thread in it. Aubrey put it aside and touched a white chiffon." We also got chiffon."
"Ooh! Ooh! Show them the satin!" Mary squeaked.
Aubrey touched the elegant fabric. "We've also got white, yellow, teal and pink satin."
The birds tweeted with excitement. And the mice squeaked with approval.
"We can make a wonderful dress for Cinderelly!" Jaque squeaked above the approval.
"Ahem." Mary coughed.
"Eh, also Aubrey!" Gus said.
Mary shook her head. She put her tiny paw on her forehead.
"Oh! You too, Mary!" Jaque exclaimed. Mary nodded, but her white cheeks then blushed slightly. The birds tweeted out a whimsical wedding music, and all the other mice burst out into tiny squeaks of laughter.
Jaque stomped his tiny foot. "Mice!" he whined.
Mary just did a little giggle. "Don't worry, Jaque. We'll be there soon."
"Aww," Aubrey senses soothed out. The room felt warm. The sunlight felt assuring on her back. But it suddenly went cold as Aubrey realized she didn't have a love as well.
