Chapter 30- Ending
"Alana Grey," Mr.Martin calls and I rise out of my seat, nervously and walk up to the stage. He hands me my diploma; something I have worked so hard for.
I look to the crowd and smile at my mom, my dad, Parker; my brother who is now one year old and even my grandparents flew out to see this moment. "Would you like to say a small speech?"
I nod and walk up to the microphone. "My high school years weren't easy. No one's high school years really are. But I'm just glad I had my family-" I look to my parents. "And friends," I look to Kyrie and Niall who are side by side; their hands intertwined. "Even teachers." I look to Mrs.Hills. "To
support me through it all. So thank you."After graduation, my parents drive me to the Barnes & Nobles that is in the town next to Ripley. As soon as I walk in, I am astonished by the number of people who have came to meet me, the author of The Real Life of Lana Grey.
I take my seat at the table and sign everyone's books.
Just when I think I have wrapped up the last book signing, a book lands in front of me and I switch my gaze upwards.
"If you can just sign it," Gemma smiles. Gemma. I haven't seen her in a whole year since Harry has left.
"Hi. Um- How are you?"
"Great, actually. How have you been?"
"Great." I nod and sign the book quickly. "Here you go."
"Thanks," she smiles. "Still set on New York City?"
"Yep. I leave first thing tomorrow."
"Wow. I know Harry would have been so proud of you."
An awkward silence... "I'm sure he would've."
