You slouched on your bed, wrapping your arms around your shivering body, listening to instrumental music as you tried to ease away such a terrible pain. You had just gotten back from a hunt with Sam and Dean that involved a Vampire killing little children to make up for her lost kids. That boy that you promised you would keep safe, his name was Billy, and he got swiped by the Vampire, killed just before you beheaded her like the Queen of Hearts. When Castiel, Sam and Dean’s friend, had showed up before the boys, he found you holding Billy’s body in your arms, rocking him as if he were asleep and tears gushing from your (e/c) eyes.

You remember how Cas carefully pulled Billy’s body away from you and allowed you to clutch to his angelic form, tears soaking his coat as you heard the pounding of feet running into the room. You heard the defeated sighs of Dean and the small gasp that came from Sam, but you didn’t pay much attention to it. Instead, you gripped to the angel for dear life as he held you close, whispering soothing words of Eochian to you, promises that everything would be alright.

When Sam and Dean dropped you off at the bunker before heading off to another job, they made sure that you knew that they loved you and would always be there for you. You couldn’t help but laugh, wondering if life would have been different if they had been your real brothers. After being alone for an hour, you found yourself thinking about Billy. Soon you were retching in the bathroom toilet as everything in your stomach was emptied and only tears and pain was left.

“(Y/n)?”

You turned over on your side and grimaced when your gaze met the mesmerizing eyes of Castiel, his expression was full of worry and care. Sadly, you turned back on your side and felt the tears begin to form in your eyes, but your sobs had disappeared; there was no more left.

“Go away.” You whispered softly. You heard a faint rustling and sighed deeply, assuming that the angel had done what you told him to do. Then you felt the bed shift next to you and a pair of arms wound themselves around you, forcing you to turn and meet those beautiful blue eyes again.

Castiel didn’t say anything to you, you didn’t say anything to him. Instead, you both looked at each other, etching into your memory the stubble on his face and how his eyes were perfectly shaped, and you couldn’t help but look at his soft lips. Castiel silently watched you look at him, taking him in with your gorgeous eyes; his heartbeat began fluctuating at just holding you close to him.

“Do you want to talk about today?” He asked you gently, his voice bringing your eyes to look into his.

“Not really, Cas.” You said as new tears began to form. He nodded and you leaned into Castiel’s chest, placing your head next to his quickly beating heart. You stayed that way for what seemed like hours, never letting each other go and never speaking a word to each other. Then you felt Castiel shift his weight until he was sitting up and you with him.

“Cas?” He shushed you and carefully pulled you up to your feet, your grey sweats thankfully covering your feet from the cold, marble floor. As you stood there, Castiel had walked over to your music player and, thankfully knowing how to use it, switched the drowsy, depressing music to something else, a song that you hadn’t heard in a long time.

Taking you into his warm embrace, you allowed the angel to place his arm softly around your waist and took your hand in his as you placed your left hand on his shoulder, the sound of a gentle piano began to fill the air of your bedroom with beautiful notes. Carefully, looking into the angel’s eyes, you began to dance.

When you were younger, your father often took you in his strong arms and taught you to dance, but instead of waltzing around your room, you were held against Castiel’s chest as you moved your feet from side to side, the sweet strings of a violin made you look up into Castiel’s eyes. Turning you around in circles from what little dancing he knew, he looked back into yours, pushing away loose strands of your (h/l) (h/c) hair from your face as the music began to grow louder and pick up speed.

Suddenly, you let go of your pain and worries and began to twirl and move as you felt a kind of freedom fill your soul, a mix of passion and love filling you like nothing you had ever tasted before. You smiled at Castiel and felt his hands grip onto your waist and push you up into the air; you stretched your arms out before you and felt as if you were flying, as if you were finally free from pain and suffering. When you looked down, you caught the angel looking at you longingly and your heart skipped a beat.

Looking at you, he was filled with love, compassion, and desire. The angel had always been the one to look at you from afar, to see the beauty in all that you did even if the rest of the world was blind to it. Dancing with you, here, right now, he had seen that beauty, he watched as your pain suddenly disappeared as he held you in his arms, loving you with each moment he could possibly love you with.

As he began to lower you down, you placed your hands on his strong shoulders and leaned forward until you kissed him lightly on his lips, both of your eyes closed until you let go and he held you against his chest.

“I love you, (Y/n).” He confessed, kissing the top of your head as tears of joy began to form in his eyes. You couldn’t help but smile.

“I love you too.” You whispered.
