Chapter Four: The sea

Hikari's POV

I wonder how Y/n somehow got Monica's ena. How it latched on her. How she fell. Why she ran away. I leap on the surface and start walking. I hear Y/n gasp.

Looking over to the two she's looking all around her. I couldn't help but to smile when she's smiling. Wait, Hikari you better not be crushing on her. You like Monica! You always have! I shake my head at the thought and look towards my view.

"It's even more beautiful than I imagined!"Y/n giggles. I groan turning around, "Y/n keep it down! People might stare at us and realize that your not from her!"I exclaimed on accident.

Instantly I cover my mouth rolling my eyes. Shit. "Nice one, Hikari."Kaname splats a stupid remark. People glare at us.
Y/n grabs Kaname's arm and looks down shyly.

I walk up next to those two. Whispers everywhere. "Whose she?"I hear one whisper only five feet away from me.
"How did she get ena?"
"Eww, surface people."

My fist cling, "She obviously has ena so how dare you call her that!"I bark back at what seemed to be a seven year old who wouldn't "know any better". I quote in my head. My eyes twitching.
"Hikari."I hear my father call.

Our body's instantly turn around.
"Yeah dad? What's up?"I rub my neck avoiding eye contact. He grunts staring at Y/n. Instantly I grip her hand. Wtf Hikari!

"Hikari!"Kaname pulls her closer making my hand release. "I'm sorry I was just protecting-"
"I'm the one that protects her!"Kaname brings her in for a hug.

My teeth grinds, "So! I'm her friend! It doesn't matter if I protect her once and a while! Also you do a pretty shitty job at it."I say in my defense.

Maybe I was jealous? So what! Maybe I love two girls. So what! Maybe one of them used to be a surface girl. So what!

Kaname's POV

What the hell was he thinking?
What was he saying! I do a pretty shitty job at protecting her! How dare he! I grip Y/n's shoulder tightly. I don't want to lose the girl who loves me, to a guy hoes over protective and better yet my best friend!

"Lord Oroko wants to see you three."Hikari's father states turning around leading the way. Y/n struggles to get free. It only took me a second to realize. "Oh, sorry."I release her from my arms. She plays with her hair, "It's okay, Isaki."

Every time she calls me by my first name. I get frozen. My body just freezes.
"You okay?"She chuckle realizing.
My eyes blink rapidly, "Huh? Oh yeah! Lets catch up!"I start catching up to Hikari.

"Hey wait up!"I feel a cold soft hand grip mine. I turn to her. Her now sea blue eyes. Just like mine. I gotta admit. I miss her E/c orbs. "Why are you staring at me like that?"She looks down scratching her cheek.

I cough, "O- Oh, it's just your eyes. There so different now."I point out how sea blue they are. "Well of course! Only is it a good different or bad-"
"Good, good different."I fake smile lying.
I missed her original eye color. It was unique from everyone else. Now it's just the same.

I turn around frowning.

I'm so sorry I lied to you my precious Y/n.

We enter Lord Oroko's room and take off our shoes. "Looks like surface girl got ena."He smirks.

I grunt gripping her hand tighter. She moves closer to my body. I feel other eyes on me. I look over to find Hikari's. his eyes, full of sadness. I gasped a little.
"Hear you three, sit. Y/n-San in the middle."He points.

We all nod and take a seat.
"So I have a question."Hikari starts.
"We all have questions Hikari. So I'll start with the whole story."He plays with a vase. "O- Okay."I stutter.

He clears his throat, "So it all began in home room when you meet Y/n huh, Kaname? She's the only one who caught your eye and same for her. As weeks went by you've grown closer. Little did you both know you've developed a love interest for one another. Then the day came where you confessed. No one was accepting because she was from the surface. Only Hikari finally came forward to accept. Only because he shares feeling for Y/n too as well as Monica. Only Monica is clueless about love at this point. Only Y/n understands because she is currently with Kaname."

"H- Hey! You didn't have to go out and say that!"Hikari defends himself. Wait, all this time he liked Y/n?

"Anyways, that's the day Y/n decided to run away from the two boys that love her. The two boys that would do anything to protect her. Then she fell and tripped on a branch. The same place Monica fell not to long ago. Somehow she picked up her ena. Now hear we are."

Silence.

"H- Hikari, is it true? That you have feelings for me?"Y/n gulps stuttering.
Hikari looks down avoiding eye contact.
"N- No!"He shot a glance at her. I pulled her closer to me. Dam it Hikari. DAM IT!
"Lies all lies, Hikari. You obviously held her hand earlier. Just admit that your jealous seeing your best friend so close to your crush. Wrapping his arms around her. Holding her tightly."Lord smirks.

Why would he shut up!

"Alright I'll admit I am jealous! Now shut up and leave me alone!"

Your POV

My eyes follow Hikari running out in tears. "H- Hikari!"I reached out but my jealous boyfriend held me tighter in his grips. I struggle to release, "Let me go, Isaki! Let me go!"I push his arms away to get free. I run to catch up to Hikari.

Why did this had to happen?

Kaname's POV

I released the love of my life for her to chase my best friend. Why! Why? WHYYY?!! Tears steam down my cheek as I fell to the floor. Oh sea god, why me? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?
