Evelyn wished she was home, but she wasn't. The train ride was different. It was empty of the fun times she had with her friends in Hufflepuff, Hannah Abbott and Ernie MacMillan. She started at Tom Riddle, she knew he would one day become Voldemort, but he didn't look all that evil.
"How do you know you are a Slytherin?" The boy with the brown hair and blue eyes questioned with a snarl. Evelyn shot her head to him. She gave off the impression that she was annoyed at him for asking.
"My parents didn't want to have me go with the stupid first years. I was sorted a few weeks ago." Evelyn responded. The boy nodded and sat back in his seat.
"This is Avery." Tom said gesturing to the blonde.
"And this is Lestrange." Tom motioned to the unpleasant brown haired boy.
"Pleasure." Evelyn said. The boys nodded.
Once they arrived at Hogwarts, Tom had Evelyn sit next to him in the carriages. He was talking to her about Slytherin house and what she should do.
"You are welcome to hang around with us all you like." Tom said getting off the carriage. Evelyn did too.
"I would like that." She said. It was all going to plan. Befriend him, then make him fall for you. This preventing the rein of terror that will happen.
Evelyn almost tripped walking up the stairs. Stupid high heels."Are you alright?" Tom asked.
"Yes, thank you, there was a crack in the stone." She said.
"That's to be expected at this old school." Lestrange said. Avery nodded. They led Evelyn to the Slytherin table that was in its same spot. This was so new and unfamiliar. She walked and sat down next to Tom. Evelyn saw that Tom glanced over and smiled a little. Evelyn pretended she didn't see that. Headmaster Armando Dippet stood up and the hall was silenced.
"Welcome back students! Another year is ahead and it will be glorious! Now for the first years!" He exclaimed waving his arms around. Evelyn noticed that he seemed to talk with his hands. Behind him sat Dumbledore!! Evelyn needed to give him the letter asap. She watched the timid first years walk in and look around. They made it to the front and soon were all sorted.
"Now, students, remember that the forest is forbidden, and... whatever. Bon appetite!" Dippet said.
"This year will be very interesting." Tom said. Evelyn got the feeling that he had something up his sleeve.
Every one finished eating and were heading back to their designated common rooms.
"So where is the Slytherin Common Room?" Evelyn asked as the four of them walked down into the dungeons. They had fallen back and were the only ones in the hall. You could hear the click clack of Evelyn's heels. They stopped in front of a wall.
"Right here." Avery said.
"Salzar." Lestrange said, and a door swung open.
Evelyn took a deep breath and followed the boys in. Here goes nothing. She gazed around the dark and gloomy common room. It was very majestic yes, but no warmth or happiness. Green decor and furniture everywhere. The windows looked out under the Black Lake. The dorms to the right and left. Many heads turned their heads to see newcomer.
"This is Evelyn Montmorency, she is new and is in our esteemed house. You cross her, you cross me. Understood?" Tom said to everyone. They nodded their heads and went back to their own conversations.
"Thank you Tom." Evelyn said smiling.
"The pleasure was all mine." Tom said. Evelyn smiled.
"Queenie!" Tom said A girl with black hair and grey eyes walked over. She had super dark red lipstick and heavy makeup.
"What." She said putting a hand on her hip.
"Show Evelyn her dorm." Tom said.
"Alright. Let's go miss prissy." Queenie said. Evelyn glanced at Tom who smirked. Evelyn waved and followed Queenie. The two went to a dorm to the right and up a small set of stairs. Queenie opened a door and walked in with Evelyn behind her. Evelyn walked in and saw five beds. One had her luggage on it.
"I'm Queenie Natalia." Queenie said.
"Evelyn Montmorency." Evelyn said. Queenie nodded and went to get ready for bed. Evelyn dressed into her nightgown and laid down in her bed. Thinking of her family that she left behind. Thinking of what is ahead, and Evelyn fell asleep.
