Chapter 14

Josh P.O.V

"OMG guess what Josh!"

"What!"

"I'm turning 18 next month!"

"Ooo wow!" I say sarcastically

"Aww c'mon josh! It's my 18th Birthday! The huge one! The adult turning one..."

"Okay I get it I was joking!" I laughed

"I'm so excited! I will finally be able to drink!"

"Yeah but not too much of it" I say sensibly

She sticks her tongue out at me playfully

We have now been dating for around 2 months and it's absolutely amazing! She is the most beautiful girl I've ever met in my life, I just can't say it enough! I have known all along it was her birthday next month but I acted as if I was not interested when really, I've been planing a huge party for her this entire time.

"Hellooooooo?" Stacey whines interrupting my exciting thoughts

"Huh" I reply completely dazed

"What are we doing for my birthday" she questions again giggling

"Oh ya know, the usual I'll take you out to dinner and give you a special present"

"Oh" she says looking disappointed

I feel absolutely terrible but it's completely worth it!

"C'mon Staceyyyy, don't look sad! You can choose the best restaurant in town!" I say trying to cheer her up

"Okayyyyy" she replies

I smile at her knowing that she's in for a huge surprise and knowing that she will absolutely love it!

Stacey P.O.V

It's my 18th birthday today and honestly, it feels like every other boring day

I got a few quick texts from all my friends at school including Amily and Nevely from California and I got a few presents including some new clothes, vouches, chocolates and other nifty things from the family in the morning.

Exactly the same as every other year

When I was little I always dreamed of having the best birthday when I turned 18 and I always thought it would feel different and special but I guess that didn't happen.

I also expected Josh to do a little bit more for my 18th birthday but I was really upset and disappointed when he said he was just taking me out to dinner. I expected more from him but I guess it's good that at least he's doing something.

I start to get ready for the dinner tonight as there's really nothing else to do today. I start by curling the ends of my long brown hair so it bounces when I walk, I dab a bit of foundation on and a bit of mascara to enthuse my eyelashes. I decide to actually dress up today and wear a beautiful blue flower dress that falls above my knees and some white high heels.

I fall back onto my bed after checking the time realising I still have a long hour left before Josh picks me up, so I kill time by scrolling through my news feed on my phone.

Finally, I hear a light knock on my door. I quickly look in the mirror to fix up my hair a bit, grab my small handbag and head to answer the door.

I open up and see Josh leaning up against the wall with a nice tuxedo on.

Omg does he look good!

"Wow aren't you all dressed up" I giggle

"Haha, happy 18th birthday beautiful" he says grabbing me for a hug and giving me a cute peck on the lips releasing my familiar butterflies.

"Thankyouu" I say hoping that tonight will be good after my long tiring day

"I got you something" he says with his cute side smile

"Ooo what is it!" I say excitedly

He digs into his pocket until he eventually brings out a small black box

He hands it to me and I open with a huge smile on my face

"Omg Josh! I.. It's beautiful!" I stutter looking at the beautiful necklace in the box "thankyou so much!" I say as I wrap him in a warm hug

"Your very welcome" he giggles "I'm glad you like it!" He says looking pleased

He takes the necklace out of the box and clips it around my neck

"It's perfect!" We say in unison

He takes my hand as we start walking to his car

"I love you"

"I love you too"
