WELL, I LOVE IT
CHAPTER EIGHT

There was a light knock on the door and I looked at my phone. It was six fifty seven. I stood up and swallowed hard. Lanie looked at me with two thumbs up and ran into the kitchen where she couldn't be seen. I went to the door, opening it. There he stood. He was dressed casually. black, slightly ripped jeans, black timberlands, and a plaid red sweater. His hair wasn't done, he looked really good. He flashed a toothy smile and greeted me.

"Hey, Beck." He said sweetly.

"Hey, Lanie." Ethan looked behind me and spotted her peering around the wall. I laughed and looked back at her, she stepped out and smiled awkwardly, waving.

"Hi, Ethan. How are you?" I asked with a laugh, trying to seem more confident than I really was.

"I'm doing good, how are you? Nervous still?" He asked. I glared at him with a smile and shook my head.

"Don't get too cocky now." He held out his hand and looked me in the eye intimidatingly.

"May I?" He asked. I nodded and gave him my hand, and he led me to his car. My eyes widened at the expensive looking vehicle. He opened the passenger side door I stepped in. He walked over to his side and got in.

"What kind of car is this? I like it." I asked. He smirked and turned the key in the ignition.

"It's my brother's car, but I borrowed it because I thought you'd like it," he chuckled, "it's a Bentley." He explained. I nodded and looked at him with a smile.

"I like your smile, Beck." He said sweetly. My face felt hot, and I could feel the blood rushing to it. I turned to face my window, smiling.

"Hey," he said. "Look at me," I turned to look at him. He stared into my eyes, making me melt.

"Don't be so nervous around me, I'm not going to judge you or anything like that." He said as he stepped on the gas, speeding down the street.

"Okay." I didn't know how to respond, so I smiled at his kind words. Suddenly, I felt like I didn't need to be nervous. He's not as intimidating when he acts causal.

"You know, you're a lot less scary and nerve wracking when you're not in businessman form." I said with a laugh. He laughed, too, and shook his head.

"Well, I'll try to be less business-y when I'm with you." I tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear and chuckled along with him. "I like you either way," I said. I could feel his stare as I watched the road in front of us. I didn't dare look at him, but I knew he was smiling at me.

"So where are we going?" I asked. He continued looking at the road while speaking.

"I'm taking you to my house," my stomach twisted, making me nauseous. I hoped this wasn't the part where he seduced me and then left. "We can watch movies and order the food of your choice. Or we can go out and do something. Your pick." He said with a big, bright smile. I felt less worried, he seems genuine. I hoped Gage wasn't right, that he was lying or something. I doubted that, though. Why would he?

"Movies sound good. I'm down for that." I said confidently. Suddenly, I felt his hand rest on my thigh, gripping it gently. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, seeing a smirk creep onto his face. I smiled and bit my lip. I put my hand on top of his, earning a small smile from Ethan.

"That's cute." He said with a chuckle. I smiled widely and gave his hand a light squeeze. He let go of my thigh and turned his hand around to hold mine. He squeezed it back, and I did it again after him. We played that little game for about twenty seconds before I gave up with a laugh. He laughed but I could tell he was trying not to.

"I like your smile, too." I said. I could see a small blush creep onto his cheeks, and he licked his bottom lip.

"I hate my smile." He said plainly. I furrowed my eyebrows and a scowl formed on my face. I was curious as to why, everything about him was absolutely stunning. His smile was one of my favorite features about him.

"Why? It's beautiful." I said. He shook his head and looked at me.

"I don't know. I just don't like it." I tightened my grip on his hand and he did the same. I flashed a sincere smile and looked back at the road.

"Well, I love it." He looked at me, and I did the same.
