❝ ALMOST SURE ❞
CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Ethan drove us back to his place after he'd picked me up from work. I sat down on the velvet couch that was placed in his living room. He made me a cup of tea and handed the hot glass to me. He sat down across the table from me in a smaller, matching velvet chair. He sipped his cup of tea and proceeded to ask me more about my day.

"I worked and went out for lunch, that's it," I shrugged. "How was your day, what did you do?" I asked him this time. He tilted his head from side to side and set his cup down.

"It sucked without you around." He flirted with a smirk. I grinned and playfully rolled my eyes.

"I missed you too." A sudden burst of confidence washed through me. An eyebrow raised, then a smile. I could tell he was surprised as well.

"Confidence? You? Strange." He joked with a sweet laugh. I stuck out my tongue and he mimicked me. Ethan then turned his attention back to his tea, taking another sip.

"I was thinking, dinner tonight at my brothers?" I was surprised by the question. I suddenly began wondering what his intentions between us were. We were becoming very close to each other, and I knew what I wanted. I wanted him. The question was, did he feel the same? He did sweet things and treated me very well, but maybe does this with all of his girlfriends. I'd hoped my thoughts weren't true, and that we could be something. Maybe he wanted it to be something as well.

"Sounds great." I was extremely happy to meet the brother that Ethan always talked about. Maybe this was another step up from friends, meeting a part of his family and all.

"Sweet. I'll drive you home quick to pick up some clothes," He set his tea down and smirked.

"Is this too casual?" I asked, wondering if I needed to change. I felt like I was dressed decent enough for dinner.

"Not to change into, to leave here." He said. I raised both eyebrows and my mouth parted slightly.

"You don't have to; I know it's early still. I was just thinking, you know because you've been around a lot." He stuttered during his sentence, showing his first sign of nervousness. I was pleasantly surprised by his sudden sign of weakness; it was a nice break from his seemingly perfect self.

"Nervous?" I joked with a smirk that soon turned into a big smile. He smiled, too, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever."

"Well, we better leave then," I announced. He smiled again, this time, wider than before.

I was almost sure, then, that he wanted to be something more.
