Chapter 13 The Lake

Alexander and I walked back to the campsite a fire was going and Liz had set up the tents Nathan sat on a log just staring at the fire completely focused, liz was next to him she got up as soon as she saw us,

"Oh Hey guys I've set up the tents and uh it should all be ready for us to sleep tonight, Oh! Alexander that one's yours-" 

The sticks that held up the tent began to slant and fall and eventually collapsed. I had to hold my breath not to laugh, Liz had tried so hard but obviously camping was not her forté. Alexander just grabbed the sticks and threw them aside he grabbed the cloth that made the tent and began to build it by tying it with a rope to the low tree branches he continued this with the rest of our tents Liz just stared there in awe mesmerized by how easily Alexander did this, (he makes most things look easy it's really annoying actually). Nathan was still just focused on the problem looking just like Liz when she's solving a math problem, I went up to him to ask what was going on.

" Hey what's going on with you? You've been so quiet?" Nathan looks at me disappointed and looks away,

"A kind-hearted woman has just died and you are worrying about my silence? Why not worry over your friend who was just lost his wife?!" Nathan rebuked.

Liz came over and pulled me aside,

" Hey I think we should all just cool off and go to bed Alexander said that we leave in the morning" She was right after what happened tensions were high we all needed a good night sleep. We all settled in under the large tent Alexander made and fell asleep.

When everyone had fallen asleep I snuck out I had to get away I couldn't let what I feared come true so I began to walk until I heard galloping it was a herd of wild horses I tried to see if I could manage to ride one so I grabbed the horse that most separated from the herd and took it by the mane I began to ride it to make my escape even though I had no idea where I was going to go since this is not my proper time, however I just kept riding the sound of the herd must have woken the others, because they saw me riding the horse Claire and Elizabeth looked at me with sorrow and betrayal I dared not to look at Alexander for fear his glance would burn me alive.

I had just fallen asleep when the annoying sound of hoofs hitting the ground woke me up Claire and Alexander we're already awake and standing I went to see what they were looking at only to receive the extreme disappointment that it was Nathan riding off on a horse. That little piece of shit! He was not going to get there either had to be a logical explanation or his ass needed a whooping. So I started to chase after him luckily I'm a fast runner I was in track I went to state 4 years in a row so I ran.

Liz was running after Nathan a seconds after we woke up my heart felt like someone had just punched me in the chest. Alexander looked really pissed and wanted to run after him he began to when I grabbed his coat collar, 

"Let go of me Claire! Your friend might need my assistance in making him bleed!" That was a lame line but Alexander was REALLY pissed and couldn't think of a better thing to say. 

" Alexander if you go out there and kill him I know that you will regret it, trust me let Liz go besides I doubt you could outrun her no one in our state can" I giggled a bit. He looked at me unamused,

"Did you completely forget what I told you 2 weeks ago? We are the fastest a human can be the only reason you weren't was because you didn't know how to use your power yet,"Alexander stated and ran off fast sure but still not as fast as Liz when she was sprinting (just saying)I ran to try and keep up.
