Alex groaned in annoyance as she sent another light-hearted slap to Barry's cheek. The young man remained unconscious, probably due to Alex's feeble attempts. Alex looked at her surroundings in despair. She had no idea what to do, and if anyone were to pass by the alleyway, it most likely looked like she had attacked Barry. She had to have been on the gravel floor, comforting Barry, for over half a hour.
"Barry," Alex groaned out, "You're not even awake, but this may be the only time I say please. So, please wake up."
The wizard hear sirens in the distant, the whine slowly growing louder. Alex had no place to be right next to Barry. She didn't attend the awards ceremony, she wasn't dressed in any fancy get up, and it would be awkward to say that she was walking in an alleyway, and just so happened to came face to face with a passed out Barry. Yeah, with that story she would sound more like creepy stalker than an innocent bystander.
It also turned out, Alex wasn't the only one that had been looking for Barry. Iris's voice rung throughout the alley as she called out her best friend's name. Alex let out a sigh and gently stroked Barry's scratched up cheek before laying his head back onto the floor.
With the same spell she used to teleport to Barry, Alex waved her arms in a circle, before opening her eyes to find herself in her apartment living room. She sighed as she landed back in her lonely, but surprisingly neat, apartment. She hoped Barry would be okay, but she bet that he would end up going to S.T.A.R Labs and getting lectured by Caitlin. As Alex turned to take a step, a dizzy spell hit her, making her stop in her track and take a grip on her couch arm. It was ironic how this "spell" wasn't one that was cast by a fellow wizard.
"Oh my gosh," Alex murmured as she rubbed her temples.
Though she used magic daily, Alex never exerted that much energy to do a spell that fast. After moving to Central City, Alex found herself using her magic for more purposeful reasons, not just using it to un-spoil her milk carton or to flip the page of her magazine. Alex maneuvered herself onto the couch, where she spent thirty minutes trying to catch her breath and ease her headache.
The dizziness slightly away, enough to where Alex was able to concentrate on creating another spell. She knew it wasn't the safest for her body at the moment, but she wanted to make sure that Barry was okay. Once again, Alex casted the teleportation spell, disappearing in a whiff of smoke and light. A hoarse cough left the wizard once she arrived in front of S.T.A.R Labs, it felt like a fire was situated in her chest. The girl stumbled into the lab, dragging herself into the elevator, and lowering down onto the actual level of the lab.
"I passed out again?" Alex heard as soon as the elevator doors opened.
The 'ding' that the elevator made when the doors opened, drew the attention of all four scientists, making all their head turn towards the front of the lab. Alex slowly dragged herself out of the elevator, her loud coughs echoing off the walls of the lab.
