Alex awoke with her vision in a blur.

"Alex!" She heard multiple voices shout her name from her front door, "Alex?"

The wizard went to move her body, in hopes of swinging her legs off the side of her bed.
She tried and she tried, but she couldn't move.

"Alex?" She heard Caitlin's voice ask from the front of her apartment.

Alex's room was in the back portion of her apartment, but right now she was thanking whoever was up there, that her walls happened to be pretty thin.

Was this considered sleep paralysis? Alex was wide awake, her chest heavily heaving up and down. She opened her mouth to scream- nothing came out. She put all her focus on her feet- at least trying to move her toes.

"Alex, are you there?" Barry's first hammered into the front door.

Oh, how badly Alex wanted to move,or yell, or anything. She was almost suffocating in the way she woke up. Her belly was to the bed, her left arm tucked under the pillow she laid on, and her right arm raised up near her head. Her legs were stretched out near the end of her bed. She just needed to move her toes to knock over the shelf that stood at the foot of her bed.

It was a white shelf that was an eight cube organizer and just a bit taller than her bed. Alex had ended up putting it in the awkward spot because she didn't know where else she could put it. Alex put all her focus on her feet, not even bothering to waste any of her energy breathing. She held her breath as she continued to wiggle her toes and finally she felt the air move through the spaces of her feet. Just barely, but she felt the wood of her shelf brush against her toes. She had never felt this helpless in her life.

"Joe, can you just do something?" Cisco's voice was laced with worry.

"I don't want to have to knock down her door," Joe sighed.

Alex arrested her movements, putting all her focus and energy to her feet until finally, finally, her was able to stretch her foot out just enough to bump into the cabinet. Once, twice, and a third time. Each disturbance to the cabinet made it rock back and forth, the picture frame of her family along with the glass of water she had placed the night before, falling to the ground.

"What was that?" Barry asked as the glass shattered onto the ground, "Did you hear it?"

"Hear what?"

She was so close. Alex let out a mental battle cry as she put her everything into this last push. The cabinet teetered for bit before finally toppling over.

Everything that had once occupied space in the storage unit was now on the wet ground. The picture frames of her family and Harper, files from work that were carelessly thrown on the shelf, her fake succulents, everything had turned into a stew on her bedroom floor.
