(Finley Pov)
I spin my phone around in a small circle on the table while the plane touches down on the landing strip at an international airport in the center of Paris.
My phone vibrates and I spin in another circle before flipping it over and holding my breath.
"I feel like you're not trying,"
I read the text and swipe the message to the right. Marking it as read but refusing to answer my boyfriend's honest feelings backed up by facts he's slowly starting to realize.
I look over and see Mari snuggling up to Jamie as he spits out all the exciting things he wants to do in the city of love. They had just got back yesterday from a trip to America for Thanksgiving with Jamie's family and the two were inseparable since the day they met.
I look back at my phone to see Lei still wasn't giving up and put it on silent.
How do I tell him that I'm holding back because I'm scared?
I'm scared I'll give him my all with high hopes only to be let down and left broken-hearted. Especially after my last...
"Are you ready Fin!?"
I look up to see Mari hovering over me.
"Yeah," I grumble as I grab my backpack from under the seat and Jamie does the same.
Mari pulls out a medium-sized suitcase and a backpack from the overhead cabins.
"Where did the suitcase suddenly come from!?" Jamie asks as we stand there dumbfounded at his amount of extravagance for a seven-day trip.
"I snuck it in ahead of time. duh, can you carry it for me baby?" Mari asks Jamie and he laughs out loud.
"Nope, you're own with that." He laughs as we walk out of the plane together.
We were about to go down the stairs when Jamie groans and turns around to take the suitcase from Mari.
"Can you roll it while I sit on it too?" Mari giggles as we hit the strip, holding his boyfriend's waist like a clingy Koala.
"Now you're pushing it," Jamie grunts and I shake my head.
I wonder how they do it, sure they were sappy to the point it was almost sickening but they made falling in love look so easy.
"Hey, are you okay Finley? You've been really quiet this trip." Jamie asks and I shrug.
"I know he hasn't insulted me once, it's really weird," Mari says as he looks me up and down curiously.
"I'm currently in vacation mode and my insult machine is in repair shortie," I smirk and he goes into an uproar.
"I AM NOT SHORT!"
He yells at me and starts smacking my shoulder before stopping to look ahead and suddenly bolts forward down the airstrip to the three familiar figures ahead of us.
