(Aiden POV)
I stopped at the crosswalk, waiting for the hover cars and scooters to fly by I check my phone.
Nothing but snaps left unopened by people I never wanted to talk to again and notifications from my job. I hear the beeping of the pedestrian light and look up to see crossing was green. Holding my jacket in hand I walked across the street in my stiff suit.
Yearning for nothing more than to get home, strip off these tight clothes and take a relaxing bath.
I let out a deep sigh as I thought of my night alone.
I never really thought about how alone I was but for some reason, I had never imagined myself committing to someone.
It was if I had no interest or desire to be with anyone romantically.
Thinking about it kind of hurts my head and I try to shake these thoughts away.
But as I do I looked off to my left and in the milliseconds it took to take a single step he came into my sights.
He walked across the street with a relaxed confidence unlike any I had seen before, his sandy brown hair shifted perfectly with his step but it was his bright unchanged gray eyes that stopped my heart and caused me to almost trip over the pavement.
My heart screams for me as I uncontrollably call out a name without knowing if it was really him.
"Taehyung!"
My body shouts without my permission and I wanted to slap myself. He turns around on his heel and just as his eyes meet mine the sweetest smile crosses his lips.
"Aiden!"
He's the only one who pronounces it the correct way on the first try, Eye-den, and it was the most beautiful sound I had heard since my youth.
But his first step toward me is disturbed by the cacophony of oncoming traffic and the slamming of the breaks with a shattering.
I slowly open my eyes to a strange blur as I try to blink away the dark liquid covering my vision. The rusty scent enters my nose and I start to cough up more liquid.
Unable to make the correct mental connection until the abandoned chateau finally comes back into view.
My face scrunched against the dusty uneven floor with pieces of shattered tile cutting my skin.
I look down with just my eyes, not wanting to move my head further to see my chair I was handcuffed to had been knocked over, probably by Icarus' beating.
A single lamp in front of me lights the dark from the night outside.
My face aches and I close my eyes once more. Trying to regain my senses but the gunshot and the scream awaken me as I try to turn to see where it came from, but it was impossible from this position.
I can only listen to Clara's screams and the painful cries of Jamie.
My heart starts to race again and I realize how vulnerable I am.
If Jamie was shot and killed, could I be next?
That would probably make Icarus the happiest man alive.
The screams of terror burrow deep into my soul but I can't see a thing which makes it all the more terrifying as a sticky lukewarm liquid touched my leg.
Blood.
It's blood Aiden.
I tell myself as I try to blink the clotted blood away.
And the scream continues until the light in the room suddenly shatters and a strange smoke starts to fill the room.
