(Taehyung POV [11 Years old])
"Faster Taehyung! I need you faster! If you don't react with precision you're going to get yourself killed,"
My father yells at me and shifts my arm up to adjust my angle. The live AI drones shaped like men three times my size get prepared for another battle. I quickly reload the gun with electromagnetic shock charges.
"I will not disappoint father,"
I mutter through gritted teeth. My prepubescent muscles sore and bruised from a weekend wasted away putting personal hours in the training room to perfect my acrobatic like fighting style and work on my core strength. My abdominal muscles were already protruding after three weeks of intense training.
Since I'm eleven years old, this is the year I start my training to prepare for the responsibility that's will be bestowed upon me when I turn twelve. I was preparing to join the vigilante group of masked heroes known as Next Generation.
A scream disturbs my thoughts and I look over to see my cousin AJ pressed to the floor by a large drone. My uncle Jonathan, who was in charge of our training, watches his every movement carefully.
"Taehyung, focus. Others might be fighting beside you but you need to focus on your own battles. Your cousins can handle themselves." My father reminds me, but I ignore him and run over to AJ's arena, gaining enough speed to jump over the ropes and using the leftover momentum to jump once more, quickly taking aim and shooting it from behind, taking the drone by surprise as he falls to the ground.
AJ catches his breath with sweat beading down his forehead.
"Thanks," He whispers softly and I help him sit up.
We turn to our fathers, who eye each other then back at us as we prepare for our verbal punishment.
Jonathan nods to me.
"Good Taehyung, This was your first test, I'm impressed and AJ your form was good but you need more upper body strength. Let's continue to work on this." Jonathan says and I breathe a sigh of relief.
"Woah, you have a lot of muscles. More than my dad," Aiden giggles as he pokes my bicep while we played on the playground after school.
"I like to do a lot of exercise stuff with my dad is all."
I lied.
I had no other choice.
"Oh that's cool, I wish my dad did that," He pouts and I roll my eyes.
"Nah, It's a lot of self-defense since I'm famous you know," I try to make him feel better and he gives me a small smile.
"AIDEN!"
I swing from the monkey bars and hop down as Aiden walks over to his dad.
"Who was that you were playing with?"
He asks as Aiden grabs his backpack and I hide behind one of the slides. Listening to their conversations.
"One of the Grayson children," Aiden explains and there's a brief moment of silence.
"Aiden I want you to stay away from those Graysons okay sweetie. They're not nice people, no matter how they may appear, they're all the same." His father says and I peek my head out confused.
"Oh, But he's a nice boy dad, I really like him." Aiden tries to explain but his father grabs his hand and forcefully pulls him away.
"It's a lie Aiden, Never trust a Grayson."
