Ignorance

After Jungkook had left, you collapsed on the floor of the quiet and empty school. Your knees have given up on you, and you could no longer keep yourself steady.

It was over, wasn't it?

You and Jungkook were over, all the memories and good times you've had with him....

Gone.

They meant nothing to him now, so it shouldn't mean anything to you either.

You should stop loving him,

But you didn't know how to.

You've drunk him in deep, and you need him.

You pulled your knees close to your chest, and you dipped your head in low.

You didn't want to move, you wanted to wake up from this nightmare.

You didn't stop being best friends with Jungkook....

It's all just a dream.

You never fell in love with your best friend.

You never met Minjee.

Jin never confessed.

You never kissed them both.

Over and over, you chanted those statements, trying desperately to wake up from this nightmare. You didn't want this to be true.

Your phone rang in the back pocket of your skirt, and you halted your sniffles.

Your body was stiff and sore from crouching and huddling on the cold floor. But, you didn't care.

You didn't care how long it's already been.

With shaky fingers, you took your phone out.

"Y/N! Where are you? Are you alright? Are you okay, safe, at home?"

He bombarded you with questions, his voice loud, clear, and concerned.

"I-I'm alright."

You stuttered out a reply, hoping that he couldn't tell that you've been crying for hours.

"...Y/N...."

"You've been crying, haven't you? What happened? Who made you cry?
Where are you right now? I've been waiting outside of the school for you!"

You choked out a sob, sniffling and covering your mouth.

"I-I'm fine, nothing happened. I'm at home right now, sorry for making you wait."

You replied, trying to convince him that you were in fact alright. That you weren't dying in the inside and freezing your butt off.
