Chapter 3: The Past

Rainbow groaned and put a hoof to her head,

Great I have a fever

All of a sudden she remembered the events of earlier.

The letter. Her dad.

She sat up, rubbed her eyes and looked around only to realise she was in the hospital. Due to Wonderbolts HQ being about 2 minutes away from the hospital, there really wasn't any need for them to have a infirmary within the compound. The Cloudsdale government (when updating the compound a few years back) had connected the building through a tunnel in the clouds which lead to the hospital's main entrance, from there the third and fourth floor was strictly for Wonderbolts use only, meaning only the Wonderbolts and their families were allowed to be treated in the 3rd and 4th floor. They had their own ICU unit, A&E unit and Ward's. It wasn't different from the rest of the hospital, only that their was only Wonderbolts who could be seen walking around instead of random strangers and the public.

She looked to her left and saw Spitfire walking up and down with her head hung low. As soon she saw, from the corner of her eye, a movement she looked up and her eyes widened.

"Holy shit Dash you scared all of us half to death, what happened!" She asked...or more or less demanded.

Rainbow Dash looked down, trying to fight tears, it took all of her to even mention her dad, or the part events of her childhood. But she had to do it. Talk about her reputation going down the drain.

"My dad," she squeaked.

"Your what?" Spitfire asked curiously, Dash nodded. Spitfire realised that whatever this was about her father had most likely traumatized her, so she took Rainbow Dash out of the hospital and back to the compound.

The Wonderbolts all sat in a circle on some soft, training mats in the training halls as Rainbow Dash leaned against Fleetfoot trying not to break down again.

. Her eyes were bloodshot red and her cheeks were stained with tears. Suddenly a purple mist appeared through the windows and exploded revealing another letter with the Canterlot Royal Guard Wax seal on it. RainbowDash stared at it with alarm and moved away from it, nearly squashing herself next to Fleetfoot; she refused to be anywhere near it.

"I..I don't want to open it" She said with a shaky voice.

"Do you want me to read it?" Spitfire asked. Raimbowdash slowly nodded.

Spitfire sighed, picked up the letter with her right wing and read it out.

Dear miss Rainbow Miriam Dashery,

We have managed to locate your Father. Rainbow Blaze, and based on the results believe that he may be somewhere around Wonderbolt HQ. Princess Celestia Has requested that we send additional guards to the HQ for maximum protection.

Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard.

"Wait" Suprise suddenly spoke up "Rainbow Blaze!! Isn't he the legendary Wonderbolt?" She asked as she looked around. The rest of the bolts had similar looked of surprise on their faces.

"Mhhmm" Rainbow Dash responded weakly.

Rainbow..Blaze........why does that sound so familiar I mean I know he's a famous ex-Wonderbolt but I feel like I personally know him....

Fleetfoot thought to herself.

"So your Dad is a legendary Wonderbolt" Soarin asked.

"Mhhmm" Rainbowdash nodded once again.

"So why was he in Prison, I remember getting autographs from him when I was a little filly, he seemed so nice" Fleetfoot explained

"WELL HE'S NOT!" Rainbow Dash suddenly yelled which made all the bolts yelp in surprise. "HE'S NOT NICE AT ALL....H...HE'S....." Dash sniffled.

"He's what?" Blaze cautiously asked.

RainbowDash sighed " Abusive. He used to abuse me when I was little, that's how he ended up in Prison. He's not nice at all, he acted nice at meet and greets after Wonderbolt shows but that was only in the Public eye no one ever knew what happend behind closed doors."

"But that means your mum was Firefly Dash, Right" Soarin asked. Rainbowdash nodded. "She wasn't abusive right?"

"No, she was the perfect example of a Mother. BUT I couldn't tell her about the abuse, My dad threatend to hurt me even more if I told anypony. Not to mention that they were divorced and the only time I ever saw my mum was if my dad had to pick me up early from school for something and I'd have to go to the compound and sit on the bleachers watching them practice, we all know how rarely I get sick so we can assume I didn't really see my mum that much," RainbowDash explained.

The Wonderbolts all looked at each other with looks of sympathy in their faces as Rainbowdash squinted her eyes tightly as tears threatened to come out again.
